1. Driving a car is essential, large gatherings at a basketball game, or chilling at your favorite bar/ watering hole is NOT.

2. You're not crazy for questioning the media, you're crazy for questioning the CDC, WHO, etc.

Dont be the next person on this board to mock the seriousness of this virus then end up starting a "please pray for my love one hes got Covid19" thread 2 weeks later. CARE NOW.
Do you care about a second Great Depression, which will in the long term cause more deaths (and general misery) than the coronavirus every possibly could cause?

Because it's about to happen.

As for the WHO I question the hell out of it and it's not crazy to do so. Tried to minimize the dangers (as did the Chinese government and I wonder if that WHO minimization was due to communist pressure from China) until it became obvious that it was something real. And now it's the bubonic plague? Whatever.

Can you share your analysis that led you to reach this conclusion? I'd like to see the assumptions you made, the figures you used, your calculations, etc.

I don't have time to do so- quite busy. I would urge you to google "Great Depression" and review what kind of an impact on the world at large that came from it. In terms of indirect impact, although I have no calculations to prove it, I submit that it might have increased the likelihood of World War 2 and the the collateral consequences that accompanied this war. It sucked a lot worse than this virus for sure. It even sucked worse than global warming and microagressions!

Because it's about to happen.

We had almost no national or international economic capacity to create money supply (yes that is inflation) in 1929.

We have far more financial and economic flexibility to withstand the challenges we now face.

An economic downturn is inevitable, but the upswing to follow will be stunning.

We will survive and prosper.

So it's just your gut feeling, or a hunch.

And for somebody so busy, you sure do find lots of time to post here!

I don't doubt that we will if we get back to work within a few weeks. If we wait another year until when and if a vaccine materializes, I predict we won't. It will be bad. It's an academic question- this country will be back to work within a few weeks, not a few months.

It's hard to have a SERIOUS discussion with an irrational person. "The Bubonic Plague ", and "The Great Depression "... REALLY?!?

WHY is everything with you taken to the extreme? Nobody is comparing Covid19 to Bubonic plague, and no credible person/ financial analysis has said Americans working from home for a few weeks is gonna be the next great depression.

When asked to provide data that led to your extreme hunch, your retort is "I don't have the time to provide a link".. Yea whatever, troll.

It's likely the decree by the Florida governor about arrivals from NY, NJ,and Conn. Will be challenged in court as an infringement upon constitutionally granted rights
Not even a liberal judge would be that stupid. Most of our problems down here are a direct result of New York and New Jersey. When New York clamped down on their citizens, thousands fled to Florida. It has to stop. Orlando had as many as 49 flights a day from New York with the big jets full of them. No telling how many South Florida had. They were walking the streets of New York City one day and suddenly ended up in Florida creating health problems and spreading their germs.

All the governor did was put a 14 day quarantine on them. He also said all Floridians who have been to New York must quarantine for 14 days, Many if not most Floridians would like to deny all residents of New York entry into our state for at least a year. They cause more problems than they are worth and have been for over 50 years.

I think it's very serious, but I don't think it will kill 2.2 Million Americans like some people are speculating. I initially said that Mid-April would be the worst, and things would begin to improve in May. I am still guessing that we will be working from home for another 8 weeks or so. While I'm not worried about what happens to me, I do worry about my older friends and family members. I will go out once per day, because I would go insane if I don't. For the most part, I have no contact with people, except at a drive-thru. I was supposed to travel to LA and London for work, but I ended up not going.

"I do not have time to debate my argument with facts, I am very busy." "But i sure as hell have plenty of time to debate with theories and BS."

Sounds good to me. I back that dude. What a complete dumbass. He is the same guy when you get a thunderstorm, he runs to his basement and acts like an F5 is closing in. Can't be JUST a normal thunderstorm, it has the be the worst of the worst.

Word is that Beshear is going to announce a "shelter-in-place" order at 5 pm today. Much like recruiting info, this one comes from my wife's coworker whose son is a cop. Apparently they received word this afternoon.

I just hope it doesn't include golf courses.

They need to put a fence around New York right now. Nothing in Nothing out except supplies and medical equipment. Almost half of confirmed cases are there and one third of the deaths. Need to really marshal resources to them.

Operation Save Florida :)
Now we are getting invaded by Louisiana. New Orleans is on "fire" The governor is putting the stop to that too. We need to seal our state lines and not let anyone in and not let anyone leave.

New Yorkers in Florida.suck. Avoided them like the plague at Universal Studios. I’d only deal with people whose name tag indicated they were from the Midwest.

Talked to family member near Tampa, that lives in a 55+ community.
Said the community has stopped owners from renting some the vacation homes out since New Yorkers was flooding down.
