Statesville Greyhounds football 2025

Statesville has been very quiet so far this year. It will be interesting to see how they will play out. I am not a fan of this Conference. Its not balanced. The strength going into the season for Statesville will be the OL and DL. Statesville Non Conference will be the 1st meeting ever vs East Surry, West Meck, Hopewell, and West Stokes. The Conference will be difficult with Mooresville the heavy favorites to win. Lake Norman will be more be harder to handle this year. Statesville should be able to compete well vs South Iredell, Davie County, and North Iredell. I will Statesville could finish 6-4 or 7-3 at best. Any other thoughts?

Statesville usually has the athletes. Mr Blue&Gray do you know if they will be young this year or have more veterans. Also how is the new turf coming along at Greyhound Hollow.

Statesville will have a mix of youth. Statesville will have a different look. Statesville will always have SPEED and all but Its about developing the guys to run routs and etc. Statesville will have decent OL/DL but I think its really which young guy steps up and makes plays. Statesville has a semi decent non conference to help their youth get ready for Varsity Games and Conference.

I can see a 9-1 season or I can see a 6-4 season so It really depends on the guys stepping up but NO ? that STATESVILLE doesnt lack speed or talent

I believe Statesville scrimmages St Stephens at Hickory in jamboree on Aug 15. Unsure of time for now.

Statesville hasnt gained any transfer in the summer, now if he did come maybe in the spring. Statesville has lost a few to Mooresville and LN this summer but I still think Statesville has a quality core to compete still but YOUNG

Being from Iredell County in my youth, playing Babe Ruth Allstar Baseball for the great late Herb Sampsel, (went to North Iredell) and having followed Iredell County schools in most all sports over the years, I would have one suggestion for the Statesville Football team as they plan on opening their season against East Surry: Bring your lunch with you, I believe you may very well win the game, but I predict it will not be easy.
This comes from a Mt Airy fan, not a blind eyed Cardinal supporter, even though I admire them greatly.

I don't expect them to be near 2019 level. Lot of talent on that 2019 team and they have different coaching staff

I think it could stay close for maybe half or so but I See Statesville speed and depth to propel them in this game - I have it a respectable 34-20 score but it could get ugly if Statesville gets hot

I think you are probably correct on this one. I do not know anything about their (East Surry) line play or their depth.
Last year Tarboro played Havelock, and it was a real game through the first have. But depth took over in the second half, from I read.

You will be playing in a really nice stadium, good seating and good concession area. Parking is a little tight so come early if possible.

At one time I heard West Iredell back out against Statesville but I figure the person that was telling me this was referring to the scrimmage on Aug 15. So I’m not sure about this Friday. I know Statesville has St Stephens on 15 at Hickory.
