was head and shoulders above Tyson Lee. Even against Auburn, I thought he was serviceable. Especially, it was hard for teams just to stop him in a basic running play. He was going to get positive ydg.

on the last play of the Kentucky game- that was the last time he played worth a ****...Relf definitely outplayed him the 2nd half of the season....Tyson's confidence seem to shatter as the season wore on, but he didnt play that bad the first half of the seaon- minus the critical turnovers...Lee and Dixon hurt us tremendously against LSU and GaTech...

I cant say what Mullen did was wrong though because now we have an athletic QB that got experience last season and ended it on by skull-17'ing our rival...Relf could have easily had his confidence destroyed by Fla, Bammer, and the rest pounding on him down the stretch last season...

I thought Relf was worth a few more downs/game. He was never given the opportunity really past the Auburn game until the Arkansas game. He would get 3-4 plays/game. Just put him in there and let him run. I am sure he could do that if he wasn't mastering the playbook.

And you need to be worrying about your savior Cohen. We suck *** in baseball.

but I think we both agree now that the direction we are heading and the play we are getting right now is exciting....

I'm not worried about Cohen....he brought in a great recruiting class and is bringing in another...people need to realize Polk left our program in worse shape than Crooms did- and that is both infuriating and sad

We won more games in 2009 than we did in Polk's last season of 2008...so Cohen improved over Polk's last season...our pitching is getting better while Polk's ***** recruits struggle on...Next year is when he will start hearing it from me if we are not making the SEC Tourney and a Regional

is what really started his downward spiral. Whenever we got into the red zone with Tyson, it was like "Oh ****".

I think Relf would have played more had he not been in Dan's doghouse for smoking pot. I wish Dan had been a little more forgiving with Relf the second half of the year. Heck, Relf only played about half of the Egg Bowl. A lot of people forget about that. Fortunately for them. Although, it would have been sweet to see the look on Nutt's face at halftime after we hung 28 points on them at the half with very little effort. We may have had two 200 yard rushers that day if we had started Relf.

He knew well.

The beginning of the year, I was pro-Lee. After the Georgia Tech game, I was pro-Relf.

I thought he had a better grasp of the offense than Relf did, plus he had had some good games in 08 against Vandy and Arkansas. That weighed heavily in my mind because I thought he would have some games like that in 09.

I was ready to go on the field and strangle Lee after the LSU game.

After Lee started screwing up hand-offs and stuff like that against GT, I realized he was a head case, and we needed to go in a different drection.

3. At some point Relfs decision making will get him pulled in favor of Russell. The question mark at that point will be what will Russell do once he gets his shot?

What disapoints me most about Russell are the statements I have heard/read that say the Russell isn't a leader. How the hell do you let that happen if you are him?

Also I am going to put much more stock in the spring game a week from now than this scrimmage. Once the stands are full how will they both respond? We have seen the bad response from Relf (Auburn) and the great response (Ole Miss, one drive against Arkansas.) How will Russell preform once on the field in front of thousands? The last time he had that chance he beat SP for a state championship. Just sayin'

Standing by that strong statement???

But I would have loved to have heard it. Side note: As a former coach, would you call a player who suffers 2 season ending injuries in 2 consecutive seasons injury prone?

until he proves differently- he is injury-prone

For anybody to even question that is stupid...can the guy overcome it? We'll see...as you said- his talent is not in question
