Is anyone going to this game? I for one am staying at home, I saw all I needed to see from this match-up last year. Despite the all the stats IMHO the Overstreet kid from SR is nothing more than an average HS athlete. Any time he or his team has run into any real competition the results speak for themselves, like last year vs. MV or earlier this season vs. Byrd. What games are you going to? Is it a waste of time to go watch Heritage vs. Northside or should I go ahead and watch Rustburg since that is the next real competition Magna Vista will face?

Overstreet is a fine young man! Very good athlete! But there are other players on that SR team that are as special! Checkout the Roanoke times game breakdown, that team has players all over it. I know Favero and Fielder have their work cut out for them! Should be and action packed fun game to watch! Good luck to both teams and hope that all the players stay healthy in this and the remaining games of their respective playoff season!
I may go to Brookville tomorrow night. Blacksburg can score at will and there should be a lot of offensive firepower on display. No offense mvwarrior but any true Warrior fan knows that this game should be a walk in the park if we play at the level we are capable of. Not saying it will be (look at the past week of college football for evidence) but if things go as they should then MV by 3 TD's. But that's why they play the games. Go Warriors!!
SR is for real. Last year it was just Overstreet. This year they have other backs that are quick and a pounding line. Magna Vista is a two time defending champ for a reason Great coaches and players. There is no way either team wins by 3 tds SR at home in a thriller 49-48
This game may go down to the team that has the ball last. I think both teams will put up a lot of points. MV defense only has 1 senior starting. Should be a good one tonight. Looks like SR visitor side will only seat a few hundred people.

Yeah not sure what Ralph was thinking about I kinda new mv was in trouble. Team just wasn't that good this year. SR was to physical and controlled both lines of scrimmage. Not taking anything from SR but our starting QB, RB/CB, LB, and safety been out. We had soph qb and freshman rb playing. Good luck to SR going forward. And Ralph the overstreet kid is for real bud.
SR is probably the best team I've seen in years play high school football! I've never seen a team that could score that easily on MV! Overstreet is definitely the real deal! So is Tester and #1 coming out of that backfield! 3 headed monster! Nobody will stop that backfield! The offensive line is the best I've seen in quite some time! Couldn't really evaluate the SR defense cause it was rarely on the field! Coach P has his boys ready. Just class act team all around! No shame in losing to the better team! SR was superior tonight! They got the single wing clicking. It will be interesting to see if rustburg can stop it. Haven't seen rustburg play so can't say. It would be cool to see SR and that wing play a team from the east like Phoebus.

I know everyone talks about overstreet, but that whole team is good, from defense to special teams. I thought MV would have a big advantage as far as speed wise, but they flew to the ball. Mv rushing game was non existent. Now when you got a good team and have someone like overstreet thats just icing on the cake. Kid is a beast running, and at full steam i dare you to step in front of him thats if you can catch him, he has some wheels. I think if there is a team out there with a little more fire power than MV on offense you can score some points, but i just think you gonna have to score 45+ to beat em.
Very good post. I agree this Staunton River team is very very good. They are the favorite next week despite being the road team. Rustburg is having a tremendous season but I don't think they have enough to stop this Golden Eagle offense. Just too many weapons
You're right about scoring a LOT of points - Western Albemarle scored 40 on them last week, but gave up 87!
I've been watching/following Staunton River all season - I'm not surprised they are in this position to be honest - and I thought they would win it all .
The only teams I feel can get in their way are a very HOT Blacksburg team or Phoebus from the East.
Last time i seen a team score as quickly as they do, was 2 years ago when MV had 6'3 and taller receivers. The thing with SR is they do it all on the ground. They will big play you to death. Its like all of a sudden you look at the scoreboard and your down by 20 points in the 1st quarter.. lol
Idk, i just think that wing would shell-shock phoebus. I seen another post with someone talking how simple it is to defend that, I agree it is with C players running it, but not with A players. I think you will see a phoebus, SR title game
