I've been to see Staunton twice this year. They seem to be getting worse. Last night at Buffalo Gap they were on the losing end of a 23-8 score, but could have won it. They had three turnovers in the red zone, 1 fumble and two interceptions. Countless offsides penalties, so many it became a very bad joke. Players not paying attention to when they are supposed to be on the field. Down by two scores with 3:30 to play in the game, I had hoped to see a sense of urgency, no-huddle offense. What I saw was players casually walking to the line, draw plays up the middle, a poor attempt at mounting a comeback.
The team is small but has some decent athletes. The discipline and focus is sorely lacking.
