Considering that we didn't have a single player academically ineligible for the Cotton Bowl, I'd say that through the first semester, as a team, we are well on our way to having a good year academically for the 2008-2009 school year APR. Along with that, our overall attrition rate as far as transfers, players quitting, etc. is way down from where it was a year ago. Remember the article around December of last year saying we had around 20 football players that wouldn't have been eligible for a bowl game had we made one in 2007? That's a good part of the reason why we are facing APR issues for the 2007-2008 year.
I'll be shocked if we're under the gun again next year.
That said, had Orgeron stayed another year, then there would be a very good chance we might have something to worry about. Given the current status of the program and the current status of our players academically, we've got very little to worry about for next year.
