^ that's a bit of a small sample. They're ~+6.4 when Thompson and Green share the floor, which is, what, a 55 win team? Bench suffers, of course, but they have reasonable depth.

Nope - your facts are wrong. ESPN 22 of 27 picked the Warriors. ESPN forecast panel had them winning 65.5% of the time. SI was 7 to 1. CBS was 4 to 1. That's without Love (lol Varajeo, he wasn't their 8th best player, let alone 6th), of course, but with Irving. Love is good, but his fit is awkward with that team (especially last year) and he gets abused by Warriors PnRs. If the Warriors were a slight favorite, maybe Love swings it to pick 'em, but they were a pretty substantial favorite (by the only people's predictions that really matter):

The Warriors were -220 to win vs the Cavs before the series started on some sites and -180 on others.

The evidence is that once Cleveland hit their stride (after the ASB), they were almost as good as the Warriors were all year long. And we know they're not a great match-up because it's hard for Cleveland to play Love.

The Warriors caught a huge break with Paul going down. I'm not even sure the Clippers get there now, and Portland is a 44 win team for a reason. I think the Warriors still grit out a series win vs. either team now. If Curry can return later in that series so he is not totally rusty for the Spurs they have a good shot still.

I like the way the Thunder are playing as well, curious to see if they give the Spurs a battle. I think they will.

Yes, thinking back, I do now remember GSW being favorites. But I think a lot of the general fan mindset was Cleveland was going to win. Maybe I'm confusing a finals, but I remember one recently where odds went one way and fan picks went the other. Thought that was Cleveland GSW.
