MCC was playing that game like they had the previous 3 games...with 90% of their offense OUT with injuries. Trust me if they were healthy the outcome would have definitely been different and in favor of MCC. Viator is a great team but a healthy MCC dominates that game. It will be an electric atmosphere Saturday in Woodstock. Great experience for the kids to play in.

It will take, dare I say, a sterling effort on MCC's part to even compete with the Golden Warriors.
Looking forward to it. I have never been to MCC. What's the situation with the visitor seating? Is it very limited?
Visitor side will seat approximately 1500 with its own press box. Home side will sit approximately 2500 with a nice press box! Bathrooms are very adequate along with ticket booth and concessions! The best part about the stadium there is no track around the field so you sit close to the teams on each side! The place is special to a lot of people and as you can tell I am one of them! I hope you enjoy it!
Nice! We travel very well so we should be able to fill that up. Plus our band is making the trip. Should be a great atmosphere!
MCC had some injuries at the time of the Viator game, and Viator had multiple injuries when playing sterling. Either way, Viator lost badly to Sterling, and MCC is a different team now that they are healthy. Dont' believe it is enough to beat Sterling.
After watching a few MCC games on video, it is evident that they are a much better team with Gavin Scott in the line up. That kid is a load! And Golembiewski has settled into the starting qb role nicely. For what it's worth, I think Marian is as good, if not better, than every team Sterling has seen this year. More importantly, the only thing that matter is that they are the best team Sterling will see on Saturday.
I don't think there's any question that MCC will be the best team that Sterling has faced to date. Just remember that Dekalb, St Viator, and Kaneland all were supposed to give Sterling games and all 3 were done by halftime. Not saying that we're gonna blow out MCC, but don't be surprised with a Sterling win.
This is going to be a solid game. Think trying to read anything into the MCC/Viator result and Viator/Sterling result is not conducive at all. They were vastly different games.
MCC/Viator - Viator was completely healthy and MCC was missing 2 of their top 3 players due to injury. So not really reflective on where they are now, now that they are basically healthy.
Viator/Sterling - Viator was missing 2 of their top 3 players. Which was a big part of not being able to effectively run, once they could not effectively run, there was no breather to recover from the other mistakes that were being made (and forced by Sterling), which just snowballed.
What was very impressive about MCC when they played Benet was as they started losing their top players to injury in the first half (#1 QB, #2 QB, #1 RB and their top OL), there was no panic on the sideline or more importantly give up, they did not fold up or give up, but, kept fighting. They never got closer, but, did not give up. Bottom line, if they get down some on the score, they won't panic, they have overcome adversity all season.
I think its going to be a close game and give the edge to MCC because of that field. It won't be watered or any of that stuff, its just a unique grass field.
As mentioned above, the from a fans perspective, its a great place to see a game, visitors stands are large, used to be the home stands until the old visitors stands were torn down and rebuilt much larger to become the home stands. Most importantly, the visitor stands are right on top of the field and the visitor bench, you can see/hear the coaches on the sideline up close and personal as well as be right on top of the game action.

Why is grass such a talking point? By my count Sterling as only played one less game on grass than MCC has this year. 6 for MCC and 5 for SHS.

There are grass fields and then there are grass fields built in the middle of a peat bog with a helpful layer of clay fill thrown in. It is not sloppy, its ankle deep mud by Q2 if there has been any moisture during game week.
Mine was the first post that I read that said the grass is NOT a big deal. Glad you "got it" after one post. Makes it easy.
In my opinion It is time for Edgy to pull this thread and let the game be played!
The only way I thought MCC had a chance in this game was for Sterling to make uncharacteristic mistakes, like turnovers or missing extra points, etc... they did just that, the worst I've seen them play all year and still won by almost two touchdowns. I will say that MCC line play was way better than I thought it would be. Congrats to MCC for never giving up and their preserverance to make it this far.
Just want to say to you, that there is defenetly no shame in MCC preservering like they did to make it this far, congrats on a good 7-4 season, oh, and next time don't be so arrogant,
For the record Sterling really only gave up 3 points, the TD was clearly fumbled in the end zone, Sterling recovered but the refs gave MCC a TD. Watch it on slow motion, guaranteed fumble. MCC had a nice stop on 4th and less than a yard or Sterling would have 6 more points on the board, I have to say MCC line play was really good, between that and the field definelty had Sterling out of sync, still a win! Great run MCC playing for your playoff lives 7 weeks in a row! Great opponent!
You won. No need to go on and tell people the refs messed up and you only gave up three. Act like you've been there before. Show some class. And move on. I had no dog in this matchup just a fan of the ESCC I'm just saying you've made a comment about MCC being arrogant on a previous post, just move on. I'm sure all the kids played hard.
Just want to say if the refs called it a TD then it’s a TD. Relax, it’s high school football, your team won, nobody thinks less of them or you because they gave up 10 points instead of 3.
And if the field hadn’t been doctored Sterling would have won by at least 50!!

What is so wrong with stating a few facts in the game? Did I not commend MCC? You guys get offended too easy! Geez, and all my posts were replies to things like MCC fans saying things like "this will be your last win Sterling" 12-1 nothing to be ashamed of" can you imagine if I said something like that?? Why can you guys say whatever you want like that arrogant statement and I state a few facts and compliment MCC and you take it like I'm the arsehole?? Relax.
That was a CPL/Phillips fan, NOT an MCC fan, who said that this would be Sterling's last win in the playoffs. I hope he is right.
