I could be wrong but I’m just calling it like I see it. Why would he leave when it seems like he is obviously being used as a pawn to get Dylan Stewart? I mean is this a money thing? Surely Carolina could match it.

Does LSU pay more? That's a possibility.

There is also the idea of getting another honeymoon phase that comes with a new job. A raise and at least a couple years stability. (His current gig could be a 1 year thing, especially if his DC is looking around.)

Isnt he slated to be making more since he got an extension? I assumed guys like him, Robertson and Gray would be safe regardless of coordinator.

They might be. I suppose it could go either way with a potential new coordinator wanting to bring in his own people.

All speculation on my part.

As for making more money? I would wager he is getting a raise to move jobs. Again, just speculation.

Who cares....I am to the point that if you don't want to be here then I don't want ya, and that goes for Stewart too.....BYE. TOO MUCH *** KISSING IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL THESE DAYS
Call it what you want. Basically every program is “*** kissing” to bring in top players. You can’t win without good players. This is the reality of college football now. Give him strippers and cocaine for all I care I want to win.

It would be obvious tampering, but nobody really cares about that. Dylan could be a great player, but I don’t think we got his best effort this year. If he’s not going to give us his A game, there’s no point in him being here.

How much money is his B or C game worth? Or is that effort still better than his backups?

Just musing, not offering opinion.

You guys down playing Stewart’s importance to our team, the kid was doubled and tripled teamed damn near every play, not to mention the obvious non holding calls, don’t let the prospect of losing him, blind you to his importance to whatever success we can have. Geez, even with the days we are in with college athletics, I would still say players are more loyal than the coaches.

And he would be double and tripled next year so waste all the money? He was only great when he had a beast on the other side that freed him up.

Why do you think Brian Thomas and others had standout years? If you don't think Stewart being doubled teamed had something to do with that, I'd suggest pulling your head out of the sand.

As has been said, you really excel when someone else can take advantage of one guy being the focus of the blocking scheme.

Stewart benefitted hos freshman year from being the "other guy". This past year, he was the guy to draw all the attention, and others could make plays because of that.

Yep, Stewart and Walker could be a formidable duo, much like Kennard and Stewart, which was similar to the days of Clownery and Taylor.

Go back and watch the games. He was double teamed very little.

I personally would rather have a 3* Stud that was giving 100% every play and wanting to do whatever it takes t win, vs a 5* that wasnt committed to the team and doing whatever it takes to WIN!!

Don’t you think the star rating is a little irrelevant here. Stewart will probably be a top 15 pick. Where is this 3* potential first rounder we’re replacing Stewart with?

I think he played hard and injured. Towards the end maybe or maybe not. I think he’s at his best not blowing by a qb and taking himself out of the play.

Evidently someone thought he was worth keeping! I’ll leave it to the experts! Just happy Kiffie didn’t get him!

Also, if you remember he was injured a good part of the year, I don't think he missed but one game, but who knows how bad the injury was and how much it affected his play! I don't!

Good news/Bad news

Good: Sellers and Stewart returning
Bad: If numbers reported are true, these 2 players just ate anywhere from 50-70% of alloted NIL money for 2026.
While it's good to have veteran players back, Stewart's return reportedly came at a great cost to the NIL budget. If we get another lackluster season out of him I hope it's the last time the checkbooks are opened to entice good players to come back for NFL money (i.e. let them roll the dice in the draft). IMHO, of course. 😉
