But hopefully one of the three will be hired and all the chicken littles can find something else to clutch their pearls about.

According to Cohen Leach was having a face to face meeting with a DC candidate yesterday. I will guess who it was if y'all will each send me a dollar.

Is Shoop even a consideration? Thought overall he did a good job with the defense the past 2 seasons and with give us some continuity on that side of the ball.

The Mizzou guy did a great job in year 2 there. I think they were top 15 this year. The UNC guy took them from 111th to top 50 in 1 year.


Over all, I think they are both new to this level as a DC

The OCD person in me knows it should've been Kramden so I like the name but it bugs me all at the same time...

Walters is interesting, and he could possibly bring Brick Haley with him. Would be on board with that.

I'm not trying to claim Steve knows everything but this narrative he's been wrong on everything just because he didn't float every name he heard is false. Just because Steve didn't put out tons of info/rumors, doesn't mean he's wrong.

He literally had Mike Leach's name about 4 days before he was announced and he let his name out about 2 days before Leach was announced because he said, "I have a darkhorse candidate, but I'm not sure what to make of it yet. I want to check on this before I let this name out."

He said a few days in advance Joe might be gone, then Steve said Joe was gone in the morning the night before it was announced he was going to be fired in the morning.

He was the first to report on Judge and he was right that he was getting the offer before the NYG came in and took him.

He was right on Napier not having much legs and got that right over and over and over again shooting down the narrative we were "begging Napier" or that "Napier was turning us down." Steve simply said lines of communication were open but he wasn't confident he would be the guy.

So, what did Steve constantly miss causing him to have a ".220" average???

Steve doesn't push things unless he feels there's validity to it. He's wrong sometimes, but he's not like Yancy who lists every high 4 star and 5 star player as a "legit option for Ole Miss" just because a prospect lists Ole Miss in their top 10.

I'm with you. The guy does a good job. I like his personality too. He's wrong a good bit . A lot of times people change their minds on what they want to do in recruiting. It's got to be tough relying on the CJ johnsons of the world for a check. But for the most part he navigates it. He also has a very entertaining book out. Better than the last imho.

Walter's and Haley sounds good but I know it was announced both would be retained by Drinkwitz. I would think they got them signed to new contracts at this point. If not maybe we could snag them. Seem like they are very good coaches

Got run off and ended up with the Chicago Bears, then LSU, then Texas? He was good enough for those guys but not good enough for us. Sound logic.

Would be kinda funny if the ULL guy came here since Napier apparently had a little hissy. If he was offered, I still don't see how he could have turned it down. This guy might be paid as much at State as Napier is at ULL if he's good enough, maybe more. Personally, I'm glad Napier's still at ULL instead of MSU.

Just saw an article that said Fuente seems to be Baylor's first choice, so that might not be Napier's destination.
