Take this for what it is worth:

James Willismost recently served as defensive coordinator at Texas Tech, but he left the program after only one season. He previously coached LB at Alabama during the National Championship season and had earlier stops at Auburn and Temple.

Shane Beamer has coached safeties and special teams at South Carolina. He served as an assistant at MSU under Coach Croom before making the move to Columbia. His wife is from Starkville and there is some talk the couple wants to be closer to family.

D.J. Durkin is from he Florida Urban Meyer coaching tree and worked with special teams as well.

I think Shane Beamer was the primary recruiter when Croom first came on board, so no thanks.

I posted this before, and I will go ahead and throw it out again....

Lance Anderson- Stanford

Now that Harbaugh is gone to the Niners, I think that we should give this guy a call. His wife's family is from and still lives in Hattiesburg. I have know his in-laws for years. I even met him a few times when they would come to visit family. He is a heck of a recruiter and a great person. He already recruits the southeast. He has recruited players like Nick Griffin and Jermaine Whitehead. I think it is worth a shot.

Brick come back. Hell of a recruiter and coach. Plus he can penetrate the wall around South Panola.

Yep, I said Durkin a few days ago. Connection with Mullen goes back to Bowling Green when both were assistants for Meyer.

Would also love to getRon Vanderlinden of Penn State, but he's getting looks as an HC. If we coudl get him, would have to be as a Co-DC.

On BDJ about 2 weeks ago. I think we should look at Anderson, but I like the Florida guy as well.
