Our program is recruiting at all time high- Coach Stoops is getting the assistants that we need to move - I dont think he is stopping after this year - the Coach that is on the hot seat is Coach Elliott- I wanna see more blitz's and better schemes -pressure and more consistency with our Defense-

On offense with finally a great offensive mind in Hinshaw and a asst oc that sits up stairs- I have never liked coaches on the field - it has success both ways but know we have the best of both worlds
If we can still keep getting the athletes we are getting we are setting our self up to contend for SEC EAST-

We can go to a bowl every year but the sec east tittle is 3 years away IMO - bottom line every great team goes as the QB goes - DREW BARKER time 2 shine - We need to redshirt these great recruits that we get but we dont have that luxury - when we do the results will start to pour in every year - Give Coach some patience -he will get it done I am more than convinced#bbn

Kentucky fans have mastered being patient. This program is damned lucky to have a single diehard fan, much less the thousands that show up every week.

It's doubtful that the SEC East title is going to happen anytime soon, but 6-7 wins and competitive football in 10-11 of the 12 games is doable down the road. Maybe not this year, but definitely '17.

Love the GNR reference. I'm stoked they are getting back together.

As for UK, this year they will make some noise. I definitely think we go bowling. And should be competitive except for a few games.

Bama
Georgia
Florida
UT

Not many teams can compete with Bama, so nothing to feel bad about there. Georgia has ton a talent left over from Richt. Florida is on the right path and is once again pulling away. UT is the surprise of the East this year and we aren't going to be able to compete with them.

With sure losses to Bama, UGA, Florida, and UT we have to go 6-2 in remaining games.
That's a very small margin for error.

That all sounds good right now, but if they go 5-7 and miss a bowl again, patience might be at a premium for a lot of people. Especially some on this message board :)

From a schedule standpoint, last year was about as easy as it gets. 2017 and 18 are shaping up to be our best talent . No way to tell what everyone else is gonna do in 2 years but we just have to beat vandy, pinkleless missou, and musch scar to go bowling the next few years and that actually sounds reasonable. Our team has to improve as well with the added talent.

Y'all are nuts. 8-4 with our schedule? It will take an act of God to get 6 wins next season. 4 or 5 wins is more realistic. We just don't have the mature talent on the O and D lines to EXPECT a bowl game.

Yea once we get rid of that 2014 class and it's 13 four stars, the best in modern day UK football history, we should be on our way.o_O

Last year was set up perfectly to get to 6-7 wins. The fact that we didn't get there and had some terrible losses to Vandy, Louisville, etc raises some really big red flags. Add to that the fact that there were some TERRIBLE in game coaching decisions that 'more time' won't fix and it's pretty darn hard to get excited about the future of this program with Mitch as the AD and Stoops running the show. People can get mad about that all they want but I'm just calling it like I see it. I love Kentucky football but it's disappointing to see so many of us falling back into the old Kentucky football mindset of pointing to 2-3 years down the road in year 4 of a coach's tenure. Really reminiscent of the Joker days and it's sad to see.

We'll be better this year, probably much better
but our front seven will cost us some games.
The good news is that you can hide a weak front seven with ball control and that's what the run game will give us. I'm saying 7-5 for this year.

Stoops recruiting has been better than any coach at UK for many years.
If Stoops coaching doesn't improve, how much longer can he get the type of players he has the last 3 years? He has got to show he can develop players.

This season, Stoops future is on the line.
If he doesn't show that he can take better players and make a more completive, better team, it may be 10-15 years before UK has a good team.

It's possible Stoops may turn the corner and become a good coach.
I truly hope so.
But so far he hasn't shown it.

The O line is the bottom line. If teams can continue to force us to have to "max protect" while they rush only 4 guys, then it's going to be very difficult for our QB, whoever he may be.

Dead wrong. You cannot hide your weaknesses on defense. If we have a weak front seven you can bet every team we face will line up, run it, and dare us to stop them. And when that happens, the other team is the one playing ball control.

Another expression filled with pure blind homerism.

We haven't been able to hide average front 7s, how the heck are we gonna hide a weak one?

Our home schedule has the easier SEC teams which is a huge plus. UK gets USC, Vandy, and Miss State all at home. Alabama, Florida, and Tennessee are all for sure losses no matter where we play them so playing them on the road is a plus as it doesn't waste any of our home games.

With six home games against Southern Miss, Austin Peay, New Mexico State, and the three before mentioned SEC teams our schedule does feature a path to a bowl game. All in all just protect our home turf against beatable teams.

I agree with this take on UK scheduling...it really comes down to playing the winnable games at home vs. road. So teams like Vandy, MSU, UL, USC, Mizzou, etc...at home are the years that we can make a gain in win vs. losses.

Southern Miss will not be a cakewalk. I am not convinced we win that game unless we are able to put up some points. We have a real chance of not only losing that game, but it being a big loss.

Every year, there is a segment of the fanbase who believes we will put it all together. I refuse to do so until Stoops is able to actually get us to a bowl game. Or at the very least not have a team crap the bed each year after 5 or 6 games.

Good thing about Southern Miss is they have a new coaching staff. They return a good amt of starters from a solid 2015 team but a new HC has to tip things in our favor.

Still a scrappy team.

Was wondering how long it would take for the first Florida win predictions. And to think it's only March.

For the life of me I cannot figure this one out. How we lose to that team 29 straight times is baffling. How some of our fans continue to predict yearly wins over them then berate everyone who won't agree with them is even more puzzling. I've given up finding logic or reason for our futility. It will happen when it happens.

After 29 consecutive losses to this team there is no objecive way to make this call. It will happen when it happens. Until then, assume a loss.

Picking a win over Florida in the Swamp without any evidence to back it up is pure blue kool-aid homerism.
And your attitude and defeated sense of UK football is what has made this fan base what it stands for today: expect to lose, accepting losing and participating in the morass of it all. So, why be a fan at all?

I think we had our best shots at Florida the past two seasons. PERHAPS a punchers chance or slightly better this year. Georgia finding their way with a new staff....possibly. Tennessee will have to implode....they are built to run and have signed some impressive receivers.
The program will have to Grow tremendously from the Keystone Kops activities from coaches and players that has been exhibited for three years. We aren't going to have enough talent to beat the stupid that showed itself last year. Throw in that I really haven't seen the recruits that get that hoopla on the d line and little in the way of development from Eliott, add in Alabama, a better Louisville and Vanderbilt.......

I would really be pleasantly shocked with a record better than the last two years.
