I'm sure the national media is going to make it look like Alabama had some heroic comeback, when in reality, we just choked and gave it to them. Additionally, if we were going to just let them score, we should have done it with a minute and a half on the clock instead of waiting until there were 35 seconds. I don't understand why they didn't just put the ball in the running back's hands and tell him to keep two hands on the ball and just fall down.

Brother, I hate to do this but I checked your stats. You joined in 2010.... this ain't nowhere near your first rodeo.

Are you really that surprised? I'm actually very angry at myself for starting to allow myself to believe when we went up 8 in the 4th. Deep down, I knew they were going to find a way to rip my guts out.

No safe lead. Ever. At anytime. In fact one day the Gamecocks will upset a top 5 team and playoff contender from the SEC. SEC HQ will contact the officials and five minutes after the game has ended there will be one untimed down for a phantom penalty. TD will occur and results reversed. It will unprecedented. But it will happen in Columbia SC.

That loss was fated. Inevitable. It wasn’t a choke, it was the football gods saying, “You suck, hard.”

I really started believing we were going to win with 5 minutes left and an 8 point lead. I was so dumb to believe that. That's when it all went to crap.

This was a game absolutely no one had us pegged to win. We badly needed the win. We had a lead with a few minutes left. And of course we choked.

Always get built up only to be let down in the end.

No, not surprised, just disappointed. I've been a loyal fan since I was a little kid watching Brandon Bennet. I just don't understand how we let it slip by. It's somehow worse than that Tennessee game with Spurrier. It's even worse than the *** whipping UK gave us the week after beating bama in 2010

Me too. My earliest memory was big George against Wake at Willy-B in the pouring rain. 80' something....

I will have to look that one up. I remember Wake had us beat but Gary Harper hit an 80 yard bomb to win the game late. That may not be what you are referring to.

That may have been the game. All I remember is the first half it was pouring down rain and Wake was winning at halftime and my folks wanted to leave but I begged them to stay ... I remember because of the astro-turf and the rain Rogers (pretty sure) scored a TD and had such momentum crossing / and falling at the goal line that he slid a long way and I think out of the back of the end zone. I don't remember the bomb though but sounds like the same game.

Letting Bama score with 30 seconds left to get the ball back is the kind of coaching move that would get just about anybody fired at any other school. I don't care what the strategy is - you never let the other team score. PERIOD.

I don't think we choked. I think it took Bama 4 quarters to wake up and take us seriously. Their last 2 drives were evident of that. We did a good job of being creative offensively for the first time this year, but Sellers was not good. He had too many bad passes. I saw the WR and RB in pregame warm ups dropping passes. The skilled position players approach pregame like its recess. They want to be cool. They can be cool cutting my lawn when school is out. You play how you practice and boy did they ever. I used to get mad at my kids when they farted off warming up between innings. Its an opportunity to work on foot work, balance and focus.

The mindset is wrong. Shula played to not lose instead of to score again. Fatal flaw- throw it up to harbor instead of QB draw.
