from you @MountaineerWV to my question about overturning Roe v Wade?

You stated:
We need to call out things that are wrong
You are opposed to Abortion because it is wrong
You are Christian
You've voted Republican

You've also agreed slavery was wrong
Christians were correct to oppose it
You've documented the first organized Christian opposition to it

So.....

In today's great Human rights struggle for dignity similar to the crusade to end the abomination of slavery, Christians stand opposed to the immoral act of slaughtering innocent Babies for the convenience of the Mother at taxpayer expense.

Christians are standing in the gap calling out this immorality just as their ancestors hundreds of years ago correctly called out the immorality of and the end of Slavery in the nation, even though it certainly was quite legal. The immorality of the Law did not stop them from opposing it back then, just as the immorality of Roe v Wade doesn't stop Christians of today from opposing it as Law.

So I ask you as a Christian, do you stand with your fellow Christians today in agreement that Roe v Wade is immoral and should be overturned?

Yes or No?

Why are you still looking for an answer? You stated previously in another thread that "you were done with me" on this matter. Now, suddenly you want a response?

Listen, I'm trying to be as nice as I can. It's obvious what type of person you are. Take that however you want. But the facts remain that I have answered your questions, you just won't accept my answers because it doesn't support your agenda.

I have told you my stance on abortion. I oppose it. But it's the law.

I've told you about the Quaker/slavery issue, yet you continue to say they weren't the first in America to oppose slavery. But my entire point was being opposed to something is fine, and good, but those that take a stand deserve to get the recognition. Just like how you support those that protest against abortion, but continue to attack me for not doing so. I don't deserve any attention for my lack of taking a stance on that issue, so why focus on me?

Abortion, 100% is wrong. However, for the 1-2% of deliveries that result in the death of the mother, could it have been used to avoid that death? Our nation has banned things that are considered "immoral" before, does it stop it? Abortions will still take place, just like alcohol still took place during Prohibition and how drugs continue today.

A simple "yes" or "no" to the Roe v Wade question would have done.

I have told you my stance on abortion. I oppose it. But it's the law.

I used the slavery example from our previous discussion because those Christians also opposed that Law and eventually stood against it. I simply wanted to know if you supported today's Christians similarly opposing abortion?

No answer from you (of course)...only excuses from you for NOT opposing it:

Yes means "Yes" (I Support overturning Roe v Wade)

and No means "No" (I do not support overturning Roe v Wade)

quote:Abortion, 100% is wrong. However, for the 1-2% of deliveries that result in the death of the mother, could it have been used to avoid that death? Our nation has banned things that are considered "immoral" before, does it stop it? (that's neither answer) That's actually trying to have it both ways so you can't be either criticized for supporting it (Roe v Wade) or take a firm stand against it (Abortions)

I'm glad the abolitionists didn't use your argument to end slavery.

Correct! And I have stated to you several times that I both recognize and accept the Quaker contributions.

I have also stated they were not alone, and while they certainly get credit for being among first and the most outspoken Christians against slavery, they were certainly not alone.

That is simply as much of a fact if you study the history of Christian involvement in the issue as their (Quaker's) first massive protests organized against it.

It's obvious what type of person you are.

I wish you had expanded on that, because while I do respect your tenacity and refusal to simply back down (that's your Mountaineer character) I also see what type of person you are when it comes to being honest or honestly saying what you really believe.

Both of you claim to be Christians. Both are against at least a majority of abortions in today's world. This back and forth in at least 2 threads does not help either of you, nor anyone seeing this.

Umm....excuse me. ATL has way more likes than you, so I think he can do what he wants.

Now that's funny Coop! Good one.

It's just really all about being clear.

I honestly can't understand why MountaineerWV is challenging the simple statement I made early on to countryroads89 and that I thought we had settled.

"Christians (no matter who they were or who was first) were the driving force behind the abolitionist movement"

That is a fact.

He challenged me on that with his "Quakers were actually first" comment, then I simply responded that they too were indeed Christian!

Also fact.

The rest has just been us being two stubborn Mountaineers who refuse to back down from a good scrum!:boxing:
