Do we deserve to be ranked or go to a good bowl game after losing to Illinois at home?Lolololol
Aint no NY6 bowl happening even at 9-3
Utah ranked with 3 losses and 2 ranked opponents so far. That is interesting to say the least. Reminds me of 2019.Lolololol

Do we deserve to be ranked or go to a good bowl game after losing to Illinois at home?
I get it the rankings are relative.. but has anyone actually watched a single one of our games this season and thought to themselves “this is a good football team” ?
Maybe the first 20 minutes of the Iowa game?
Every single series is agonizing no matter who the opponent is. There are a bunch of guys who play really hard on defense and some of them are pretty talented. But this has been an incredibly frustrating team to watch…

Yes. Many of the teams that are ranked have issues just like us. Not a top 15 team, but top 25 definitely. The committee says head to head and injuries matter. If that true, we should be ranked without a doubt, worts and all. Tell me the AD at Iowa being the head of the committee has no impact. I am sure he is all too happy to stick it too us because we dared have injured players in the game where their low life fans booed.Do we deserve to be ranked or go to a good bowl game after losing to Illinois at home?

Auburn. We looked pretty damn good against them. It seems like a lifetime ago however.I get it the rankings are relative.. but has anyone actually watched a single one of our games this season and thought to themselves “this is a good football team” ?
Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.Do we deserve to be ranked or go to a good bowl game after losing to Illinois at home?

If we run the table, considering who 2 of those 3 wins are against, can’t believe there’s any chance we don’t jump both Wiscy & Iowa (assuming neither of them beats OSU in Big 10 title game). If we run the table do we still end up behind Iowa and Wisconsin for the CFP rankings leading to bowl selection? Seems like that is how it is being set up. That Illinois loss is the gift that keeps on giving. Brewwwtal!!

If they run the table to include winning Big 10, then absolutely, they’d be ranked higher. But if they win out regular season, but lose to OSU in title game (finishing with 4 losses) & we win out, PSU will be ranked higher. Little doubt in this.If Wisky runs the table, they will win the West so yeah we will finish behind them as we won't win the East.

Purdue’s additional loss coming this weekend vs OSU. With Iowa, I think only 1 more loss would do it (unless they run table Reg season & that loss is in Indy). They would then get nod over PSU. But, I’m pretty confident Wiscy winning the West.also need additional losses from Iowa and Purdue. Potentially two from Iowa.

and they are 17th after losing last week! PSU should definitely be ranked somewhere around 20 would be my guess.Auburn. We looked pretty damn good against them. It seems like a lifetime ago however.
I'm not a fan of the back end of these rankings (the methodology seems suspect and inconsistent), but the lesson is that you should never ever lose to Illinois.

In 2016 we were not ranked going into Ohio state game. We were New Years 6 at the end of the year.Lolololol

Just win and the rankings will take care of themselves. Hopefully the snub is a motivator to the team and made well known by the coaching staff.
There are other teams ranked with bad losses. Pitt lost to a 5-4 Mac team. They’re also going to make it through the season having played zero ranked teams.
Hence, the inconsistency and suspect methodology I wrote about.Unless of course you are Wisconsin, then a loss to Illinois doesn't count and you go to the Rose bowl
I'm mystified why this is a debate. As mentioned earlier, we lost to Illinois, at home, on homecoming. This alone tells you why we are not ranked, it is an inexcusable loss, period.
Doesn’t make me wonder at all. I’m absolutely convinced Barta has his thumbprints all over decision to keep PSU out of the Top 25.Interesting. That idea that Penn State would not be among the top 25 just seems ludicrous, based on overall body of work, even with the horrible loss to Illinois.
Makes one wonder how influential the Iowa AD is on the committee.
If you’re mystified, you’re not doing your homework. Yes, Illinois was a bad loss. Go look at the schedules and results of several of the other teams ranked 15 to 25. Good wins should have some neutralization of bad losses, but as it relates to PSU, they’re not looking at this (even though they say injuries are considered).I'm mystified why this is a debate. What TF does homecoming have to do with anything?I'm mystified why this is a debate. As mentioned earlier, we lost to Illinois, at home, on homecoming. This alone tells you why we are not ranked, it is an inexcusable loss, period.
Maybe you've never played a football game, but the teams I played on, homecoming was important. That's WTF I'm taking about. What TF does homecoming have to do with anything?
