...the other Pat Patterson. Dollar General? Family Dollar? Really? Did he just say that?

It's a shame that Oxford's board of alderman have continue to push for diversity and it just doesn't happen organically.

and until that stops, we will be spinning our beers in ice to get them cold

OP, you do know that Oxford finally passed the cold beer act AND alcohol sales on Sunday, right? I can't believe it myself, either.

Oxford....finally into the 20th century!!****

When does it go into effect? Welcome to the 1930s..

Apparently, it already is. My aunt and uncle are both from Oxford and lived there their whole lives. I had to visit Oxford the past 2 weekends for wedding crap and they told me it about it. I know the cold beer is already in effect. Have no clue if Sunday alcohol sales are in effect yet, but they talked like they were already selling on Sundays.

We need to all pool our money together to help African-American owned/targeted business develop on the Square. That we can all agree on. Afterall, it's 2014.

If that were to happen, what percentage of the population would it piss off?

Pie (peach is my favorite) = 3.14..
Carry the one...
SOH-CAH-TOA..
(1/3) = 3.3333: repeating of course..
LEERROOYY JEEENNKKIINNSSS..

80%.

"There's a big diversity push that i think is for the most part silly"

"If there was a dollar general or family dollar out there, you'd have a different demographics"
I bet he shops at the Wal-Marts.

the hipster at the 58 second mark in his red skinny jeans that are tucked into his Napoleon Dynamite moon boots, pullover, hippy beard, and square framed glasses is my favorite 9 out of 10 white guy.

The news agency actually counted him as 10 white guys because he was ten times whiter than the average white guy, so really the number of african americans on the square is probably proportional to the Oxford population.

I was just able to watch this with sound. WTF? There it is again, OXONIANS. Obviously, I'm not a native Mississippian and I spent most of my time in Starkville and on campus while in MS, but is this a new trend or have they been referring to themselves as such for a while now?

In case you missed it in the other thread:

Always been that

Unless you have a better suggestion, because Oxfordian isn't right, nor is Oxfordite. And "douchebag" is already taken by residents of Gainesville

n.

2. A person who studies or has studied at Oxford University.

Well played. Athens residents have a claim on that moniker as well. This must be what those two schools are really fighting for every year at "The Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party."

I'll take your word for it. Today is the first I've ever heard or read of it and I came across it twice in one day.

I live in Lafayette county(unfortunatly) and I believe you can buy beer on Sundays.
