Yep. Look at the available candidates the last time and you see what direction Mitch took.
I just want Brooks back so badly. People have no idea how incredible not only a coach he was but his staff was A++++++.

damned straight. Mitch hasn't done jack for football or basketball other than being forced to hire cal.
Mitch would have never have hired Cal if it wasn't for Mike Pratt and a few others. He cannot make good hires unless somebody takes him by the hand and leads him to the person
everybody in the department other than cal, peevey and bell are just drawing a huge paycheck for absolutely no production. I guess you all do know that mitch has only minimal dealings with the basketball program, right? He pulls multiple hundreds of thousands of dollars for being able to put coherent sentences together in front of a camera.

LOL! I doubt that. I was kinda thinking the same thing about you. I will give you 1 point. Stoops didn't coach a very strong game today. But not for the reasons you think. In hindsight, the decision to pull Towles and play Barker produced a quick TD drive, but then cost Kentucky 14 unanswered points on the pick 6 and then the poor 4th down read and throw on our subsequent possession. That's the difference in this game. Plus, we continue to be hurt by the offseason decision not to hire a special teams coach. In the final analysis, if Barnhart had fired Rich Brooks when fans like you wanted, that decision would have cost Kentucky 5 bowl seasons. That's Barnhart. This year has not been a picnic, but people like you who want to burn everything down ARE CLUELESS regardless of what you think you know. Decisions made with the spleen are seldom right. Stoops will get more time. If you don't like it, go cheer for another team and give us a break.

Rich Brooks won more games in his first season than he did in his third. Good thing we didn't fire him mid way thru his third season.
This is god awful football.Barney gave him a huge raise based on recruiting. It is obvious they cannot develop players and the gameplan sucks!
Even during the bowl seasons, we never competed in the SEC. Until we start competing, our wins are just a product of our weak schedule
Time for Mitch to hire another unproven coordinator. I don't think he's learned his lesson yet. 3 is the magic number for him.
We are not even close to being a good football team. Offensive line cannot protect the passer at all. Terrible clock management. Dropped passes. Just all around awful. I don't think stoops is the biggest problem, but things need to be evaluated seriously.
Head coach has to manage a lot of moving parts during the game and Stoops does not appear to have that ability. Special teams mistakes have hurt us all year. Poor play calling. QB rotation making no sense....this is not good
Some of the guys on this thread have got to be on Mitch Barnhart's personal payroll. There is no other explanation for the continued rationalization and defense of this guy. He is a charlatan and has fooled so many it is amazing
I'm definitely disappointed with this season. I'm disappointed in the coach also. However, 3 years has not been all bad. Stoops took over a program that had players that weren't good enough for division 2. He has recruited better than anyone has in prior years. It will take 5+ years to build this program. I too question his decisions. I also wonder if he is micro managing his staff. But I'm not ready to throw him under the bus yet. If he hadn't been recruiting at the level he has been, I'd say we're screwed fire him. But you gotta look at other programs like Miss. St., VaTech, TCU, Baylor. It took them years to build their program. But someone do s need to teach him how to discipline his team and organize better.
Stoops has coached poorly all 3 seasons. He is obviously way too involved in the offense. Brown and Dawson don't just forget how to be aggressive and run an offense overnight. Our guys have not gotten better at all. You talk about the Barker coming costing us the game? Are you serious. What about the interception that Towles threw into double coverage on the fade? that was terrible. I mean awful. People talking about that last drive Towles hit Baker in the feet, yes he should catch that ball still but he gets stopped short of the 1st down. He gets hit in stride up in his chest 1st down.
