UK Defensive Line should be ashamed to call themselves SEC caliber D-linemen. They are the worst D-line I believe I have ever seen on an SEC team. I think the Brooks Team, that lost to OU Bobcats had a better D-line. They are horrible. There I said it. This is what Stoops taking charge gets UK.

They do not have the quickness at all positions to play a 3-4 defense.
Change the scheme and the play will be better. Elam serves no purpose on this defense. He's easy to block and gets no push. He is not strong enough and should be benched but nothing will change as long as Stoops thinks he has the players to run a 3-4 defense.
I don't think any scheme changes are going to help at this point. It's coaching and player development, plain and simple. Stoops, Eliot, Brumbaugh just aren't able to develop these guys and get them ready to play. If you watch the game we just get blown off the ball every single time against inferior talent. There is no clearer indication of coaching being the problem. It's becoming pretty clear why Reggie Meant chose to transfer. He saw what was going on with this staff.
Stoops said he was going to devote more energy to the defense this week. The end result was over 500 yds of offense and 42 points to New Mexico St. Again, that's New Mexico St. This is not working. The worst teams in the SEC are going to destroy UK despite the fact that our head coach is a "defensive genius."
Explain to me why Brumbaugh has made A LOT of money at UK coaching the D-Line for years?

Love when people say "there. I said it". Like none of us have even conjured the notion that our d line is trash. And that none of us have thought about putting our feelings about the d line in word form for the last three weeks. This here is a brilliant deduction on the OPs part. Very enlightening
The D line is not real good but not the only issue. Many times the LBs and the SS simply don't execute proper run fits.

Stoops is a defensive guru guys. He said Courtney Love was the second coming of Dick Butkus. Just give it a few more years and pay him $16 million more and you'll get the results, I promise you.
