<p class="blogHead">One thing that infuriated me last year (well the last 3 years) was watching us line up - look at the defense, see that they know what we are running...and just run it anyway. Maybe, just maybe, that is going to change this year:

From Chris Low's article on Wes Carroll on ESPN.com -</p> <div class="blogEntry">
In particular, Carroll thinks the Bulldogs will be far more flexible on offense and not beat their head into a wall trying to run against defenses that stack the line of scrimmage with eight and nine defenders.</p>

"I think everybody found their niche in the spring and what role they'll be playing on offense as opposed to just going out there and trying to run when there's eight guys in the box," Carroll said. "We won't be able to do that. We established a lot of new formations with plays that we can execute against any defense.</p>

"We have a lot of audibles depending on what the defense does, and we'll always be right. We didn't have that flexibility last year."</p>

Bowl available at the line of scrimmage and run a no huddle then have Woody or Croom call a single "play" from our "playbook."

Well, is this about trusting Carroll more or the fact that they didn't trust Henig to make the audibles?

I'm thinking that the staff didn't trust Henig to make the audibles.

Now, why we didn't call audibles from the sideline, I don't know.

remember, he was a true frosh and the WCO is overly complicated. As ineffective as Croom & Co. have been offensively, I seriously doubt Henig wasn't allowed to audible. But who knows -- I don't feel like going back and watching any of his games.

what our audibles will consist of. They will probably be like one word and will only work one time cause the defense will have figured out what is going on by then, but we will continue to call that same one word audible about nine times

Carrol to self: "damn, they called the lead blast on 3rd & 5 again; instead we're going to a strong side option with Robert Elliot beside me and a WR on an out route 10 yards in front of me"

then go to some type of system like West uses at Memphis where they get to the line and the coaching staff looks over the defense and calls a play. There is no excuse for calling a play and being stuck with it when you are in the SEC.

who is a former high school and college football coach made a comment to me about how Henig never made one audible after a game against Auburn a couple of years ago.

out of the loop and lets "audible" every play- guarantee we would be better off.
