That would be my only guess as well. If it's not, I got nothing.
Probably, but it is still a pretty specific reference nationally. We can't be the only team with Hunters and Tanners and Daltons
I don't watch his show, but the way they all seemed to agree with him immediately made me assume they have talked about our team and the names before... but that's a total guess.
Definitely an out of left field reference for a national guy to make. Free publicity is free publicity though.
Any publicity is good publicity when it comes to college baseball.
also definite proof that nationally that is MSU's identity as we have discussed multiple times with the baseball haters on here.
I am happy to have multiple sports that can be referenced. Most colleges only have football or basketball.

Dalton, Dawson, and Jackson. Playing off the trend of white suburban athletes having last names as first names, I guess. Subliminally, he might have watched part of the 2021 CWS and remembered all the Tanners.
