How many times do you have to be told you're wrong in order for you to get it. Stoops isn't going anywhere this year or next.

And to the poster who said he'll screw up again? Do you honestly think one bad hire means someone is incapable of making good hires? That's equally dumb.

All vitriol for Stoops truly surprises me. The guy has been far from perfect, but we are better off then before he got here, that is undeniable.
Our offensive numbers went down drastically in every stat category kept except 3rd down conversions with our most talented skilled players in a long time

Our defensive stats improved in every category despite a couple beat downs.

If he is the fall guy the numbers back it up. Our offense was unimaginable, glad he is gone. On to the future

For the 1000th time CMS is not going anywhere for the next few years. Get over it.

SanAntonio, I don't know what you base a statement like that on. There are two things that enable a coach to keep his job. W's and L's and fannies in the seats. I have been a season ticket holder since 1974. When a coach doesn't win, fannies don't stay in the seats. Ask Curry, Mumme, and Joker. Barnhart raised the prices this past year, so fans expect a coach to produce. I agree that should not affect a coach's job, but it does.
A lot of money has been put into the program to enable us to compete. It;s the coach's job to make sure that happens, and that means W's, not moral victories.

Hal, your exactly right. Somebody had to go, and with so much adverse fan reaction, Dawson was the one a lot of fans wanted gone, so Stoops covered his A$$. Stoops had better show a lot of improvement this year, or his A$$ will be gone.

You actually think Stoops fired Dawson because he was the one a lot of fans wanted gone. So Stoops did this because of adverse fan reaction to please all the bashers and haters.

Our offensive stats declined drastically in every statistical category except one with the best young talent we have had in the skilled positions in a long time. Maybe that got him fired.

Even with the so called Stoops meddling Dawson couldn't match what basically the same players did the year before.

After last year every body was excited about what our receivers were going to be like, Conrad coming on board......Dawson failed our team

Good comments and a sensibility that fans control a coach's fate. That is true to a degree. CMS has at least another two years to show progress in terms of competing in the SEC. This total rebuild is a process and he will be granted time to succeed. As I said in another post, a NASCAR winner is only as good as the car's performance and the parts that make it work. We don't have all the parts in place at the moment nor an experienced pit crew to make it happen. IMO, we are only halfway there to the winner's circle.

I just feel that parents of some very talented kids who could have gone to successful winning schools would stop letting their kids come here if there were questions about the ability of the people they are sending their kids to play for. Especially the Ohio kids.

But, Stoops and his staff keep loading up with the level of talent we as fans are excited about.

He is building this program and top notch facilities and a different level of talent that has not been here for awhile.

Has he been perfect as a new head coach, no he hasn't but why do all these great players keep coming here to play for him.

In my opinion it's the posters that are micromanaging and Stoops who is busting his butt anyway he can for his players to be successful. They came here to play for Coach Stoops and help him build a program.

For me the Stoops era starts next year.

UK was 96th in scoring offense (24 pts a game...down 5pts a game from year before)
UK 87 in TOs lost

So UK was way below average in scoring and...
Just to be fair, in 2014 the Cats scored a whopping 6 non-offensive TDs. In 2015 only 2. That is a difference of 28 points or about 2.3 points of that 5 PPG difference.

Peace

As for fans in seats, however they arrange it (and I understand TV contracts), they need to have more EARLY games next year. It's tough to drive 100 miles home after a loss at 11:00 every Saturday night. I'll still have my seats, but whether I'm there or not will depend on my faith in a win. I have a really nice man-cave....

So don't judge the support based on butts in the seats, it's about ticket sales. Once the seats are sold, only the concessionaires give a damn about butts.
