Does anyone else see a trend going back to last year ,seeing how our football team performs as the game continues into the 2nd half?

-Troy last year at half we had a nice comfortable lead and they come back and almost beat us in the 2nd half
-LSU last year in Baton Rouge we led the whole first quarter , then after D Milton fumbles they take the lead right before half, only to extend it in the 2nd half
-Ole Miss last year tied at half only to get our asses handed to us in the 2nd half
-Northwestern game close at half then they put it on us in the 2nd half
-vs Oklahoma State we led the whole first quarter, then they dominate the 2nd half

Do you think this is due to conditioning, or does Mullen not have enough depth built up? I am leaning more into S&C . Ole Miss was paper thin last year and had no depth . We were probably deeper than Northwestern too. Im not sure what Balis has these guys doing in the off season ,but from 10000 feet it looks like we are getting out worked by our opponents in the offseason

The second half is also when good coaches make adjustments and when they motivate players to work through the momentum swings of a game. This is a bigger issue than conditioning.

You have a good point, only exception from last year was MTSU where we played lights out in the 2nd half.

I thought about 2nd half adjustments as well by our coaching staff as a potential problem. Oklahoma State sure seemed to make some adjustments to our offense at half. Whatever the problem is, it definitely needs to be addressed. And Mullen makes $3M per year as our CEO to figure that out

It's ironic that S&C would be mentioned as I saw a OSU fan with a t-shirt that

read: " We bust our asses in the off season in order to kick your asses". I thought that was kinda dumb but on second thought...

2-16...S&C doesn't matter if your offense can't get a first down.

There is good depth on this team. It's not that.

I don't think conditioning was an issue against OSU. I said it then, and I'll say it now, we're soft up front. We got no real push against OSU other than the one drive when Perkins carried it three or four straight plays. Even that was alot of running through arm tackles. However, we seem to response better with Dak in the game compared to Tyler. Who knows why.

Incredible. I think we got no push when Dak is in the game and response better when JRob is in the game compared to LDP. You've got it backwards.**

-well the 2nd OSU QB was miles better then the first. Newsflash, we still have no idea how to stop the read option. QB gives or fakes the give, the left end collapses inside, and there's nobody there. Rinse repeat. that has to be coaching when it happens over and over and over ad nauseum. Good luck with the rebs casue they do it better than OSU.
-We have become a psedo finesse team. yet, we suck at finesse. Enough big uglies to get on people, and drive them instead we run counters into the holes where a pulling guard just vacated 3 straight times ??????I have no idea why. Oh and no lead blocker or FB.
-The pistol stinks for us.
-when we tried to stretch the field two guys are within 5 yards of each other. We throw it deep to Jameon, not one of the big guys we finally have outside. We sign a juco wr who can just out jump ppl, run block, and he plays about 4 plays. We did fake a jet sweep to him though, whoop te doo.
-All that bitching aside, in my view we may have more talent out there than we have had cumulatively in the last 5 years. It really reminds me of the Dallas Cowboys thought processes. "This is"
our Jerry Jones.
We'll see what happens, but if OSU stuffs us multiple times on third or 4th and short what the hell are we gonna do in the SEC?

Bingo. We have a HC that is incapable of making adjustments at any juncture of the process, in game, between games, between seasons...

There are times I think it may be more unwilling than incapable .
