Now that the search is underway, we won't hear much until the deal is almost done. Maybe Stricklin has reached out to agents prior to the end of the season to take the temperature of how the MSU job is viewed, but otherwise, all communications are going to be between agents and the search firm and Stricklin and the search firm until there is mutual interest. There may be some coaches that get raises/extensions based on supposed interest from MSU.
Also, if a head coach still coaching in the NCAA is a leading candidate and their agent has indicated interest, I think things will move slowly until they're done. I think this would be the case regardless, but I'm guessing that after the Petersen leak (assuming there was any basis to it whatsoever), they will be even more concerned about rumors involving discussions with a head coach still in the tourney.
