No real rumors on the new coach yet... Where are the plane trackers? Or does anyone not care who we hire?

For some reason. Maybe we're that confident in the AD, I dont know. I would love to hear what everyone's expecting

4 days during the opening weekend of the NCAA tournament.<div>
</div><div>What kind of rumors are you expecting at this point? </div><div>
</div><div>I'm sure it took a day for Stricklin to get his internal ducks in row and then began contacting agents/other ADs some time on Friday. Said agents/ADs then must make contact with the potential target, who was more than likely involved in some capacity in preparing a team for an NCAA tourney game this past weekend. I care a lot who we hire, but I'm not surprised we haven't heard any thing yet.

Now that the search is underway, we won't hear much until the deal is almost done. Maybe Stricklin has reached out to agents prior to the end of the season to take the temperature of how the MSU job is viewed, but otherwise, all communications are going to be between agents and the search firm and Stricklin and the search firm until there is mutual interest. There may be some coaches that get raises/extensions based on supposed interest from MSU.

Also, if a head coach still coaching in the NCAA is a leading candidate and their agent has indicated interest, I think things will move slowly until they're done. I think this would be the case regardless, but I'm guessing that after the Petersen leak (assuming there was any basis to it whatsoever), they will be even more concerned about rumors involving discussions with a head coach still in the tourney.

I really don't care who they are if it doesn't work out. It's who works out that will be interesting. I think most would agree with that.

a new coach at this point. It's the deadest (most dead?) conceivable part of the off-season for us right now. Hell...technically, we haven't even gotten to the off-season yet since this basketball season isn't over. I hope we take our sweet-*** time with this hire.
