Wednesday Update:

As I write this week’s update (while waiting not-so-patiently for my C Spire iPhone to install iOS 7) I stumbled across an interesting stat. Heading into a four-game homestand (MSU’s next road game isn’t until November) the Bulldog football team has won eight of its last nine games at Davis Wade Stadium, dating back to 2011.


So these next four games are a great opportunity for all Bulldogs to come together, show the true spirit of Mississippi State and support a team that’s working very hard to return us back to our recent winning ways.


There are less than 500 tickets left for Saturday night’s game against Troy. I see the effort our team gives every day, and I know how well you and others support the Maroon and White. And I believe that all of that effort and support will be rewarded with victories.

I have no doubt at all that our players are giving maximum effort so far this year. It is the coaches that I worry about.

That prevent D against Auburn kicked my confidence right in the balls. A team like Troy will eat a prevent alive so we better get up big and keep piling it on.

Could it be that possibly those coaches got fired cause their teams sucked? Just curious.

Cool, so we agree that being a suckage barometer and having a home win streak, in rare instances, can be the same thing.

I am so tired of his cheerleader ***....What a Tool we have for an AD....

Mullen has never beaten a Top 20 Team.....

The last BCS team we beat with a winning record was Michigan....

So what I'm gathering from the responses is that we want cold, factual analysis of the situation from our athletic director




(but definitely not from our beat writers).

Just an FYI. We didn't play a prevent defense on the last drive. I was screaming the same thing until I went back and watched the replay.

What the 17 do you want him to do? IS he suppose to say "Well State fans we suck, the season is doomed. If your thinking about supporting Athletics in any way....dont do it..its a hopeless case."

I think you are overlooking what is job actually entails.

Not sure what you call it then when you aren't bringing extra pass rushers and your CBs are giving 10 yard cushions to receivers catching the ball 10 yards up the field? Seriously I could have completed most of the passes that Nick Marshall completed on that last drive because you just had to throw to open man with nobody much around him.
