Scott: "is it going to be done by the 30th"?

GC: "yup"

Scott: "well ok"!

What the hell is the GC suppose to say? Haha. I thought I saw that they were suppose to be done by the 20th. If that is true, I dont see your statement as being very comforting.

They're still working in the suites right now. It's 9:35pm.

Because GC will stand to lose a hell of a lot of money if it isn't completed by date promised. Actually all that's lacking on outside that will be visible to us not in new addition is the completion of jumbotron which shouldn't have more than a week to go or so it appeared on pictures shown tonight. The paint may still be a lil damp on the inside but she will be finished. They can run 3 shifts in August to guarantee it gets done.

Don't know who the GC is, but if they didn't think they were going to be done by the 30th, they would be upfront about it unless they are an idiot. Plans are going to have to be made if things are not done, so the more notice he gives, the better it will be for him. Even if the damages are straight liquidated damages and the GC was worried that precautionary steps Strickland might take would slow them down more and potentially increase his LD's, a contractor worried about his reputation is not going to want to blindside them.

Just out of curiosity. What was the origial estimated completion date?....

that the contractor has assured him DWS will be completed by August 30th.

I know the drop dead date was august 31 2014 but running the completion date on a 2 year project up to 10 days before the absolute deadline is cutting it mighty close.

'Substantially complete'

Is not the same as 'complete' and can be a moving target depending upon the evolving relationship between the contractor and the owner. I bet if the addition is aesthetically appeasing and seats everyone comfortably and safely by the first game then 'substantially complete' will be granted with a few achievable punch list items to wrap up throughout the season.

I sat out in front of a Holiday Inn most of today and 100% of the customers said no way it gets done.

Doesn't count unless it's a holiday inn express. Bonus points if they have a friend that sells steel.

The same Kentwood water delivery guy who delivers water to my office in Jackson also delivers to the Kangaroo in Kosciusko. He says it won't be done in time.
