All the same when it comes to trying to rest/return/play through this specific injury, I feel like we literally just tried that approach with a much tougher guy in Lamont Butler. Having trouble seeing a world where that experiment turns out much better with Lowe.
Fans having different opinions than me doesn’t make them bad posters. Can’t take this place too seriously.
Thanks my friend, I appreciate it. Just taking it day by day right now. Surviving. Living feels like a curse at times but I have a child so have to live for him and to honor my wife.
Hopefully Lowe isn't done for year. I liked what I saw from him. We have just had so many injuries last decade or so. I still say Poy plays and UK goes 40 and 0.
Sit Lowe out of games and practice contact/scrimmages for a couple months and get the team better. Get him healthy and strong around that shoulder joint. Bring him back halfway through January at the earliest. Reintegrate him then.
The team needs to learn to play without him. We have to develop our bench. May also need to pick up a really good #2 or #3 the point during or before the semester break, if we can. See if we can sign another guard that can do some (all would be better) of what Lowe does so well.

My buddy has a recurring separation in his shoulder. Has to work out without using barbells. Single arm shoulder workout motions. Still goes out on him occasionally and the original injury was over 3 decades ago. Never had surgery though.
It was a work related injury he wished he got surgery on at the time. Tough decision for Lowe to make, but I hope he makes the right one for his future. Hate to see it become a regular and irreversible thing because he didn't do the right thing
Certainly. He said Lowe probably would need surgery, from what he knew of the injury. Regular folks can go without the surgery if they're careful. But athletes are far better off to just do the surgery and rehab. Otherwise it'll always be an issue. And he'll regret not doing it like your friend. I hope your friend doesn't re-aggravate his again.
I hope he gets healthy and is able to play for you guys this season. I don't ever want to see any player hurt. And I think he can be very good for you guys.
I don't understand the need for UK fans to dog their own teams. It's an ugly trait. Last year's team wasn't bad. This year's team isn't bad. They're all different every year.
We don't know if we "have the talent" this year because we haven't once seen everybody play together. How many minutes has JQ played? This isn't the NBA. We have what we have.

If you’re Lowe(a non NBA player) would it be better for you to get the surgery now, take a medical redshirt, and cash in on an extra year of 7 figure NIL?
If you’re Pope and UK that probably paid 3M for him this season, are you motivated to push him to have the surgery in the offseason?
Regardless, how does this injury impact the NIL he gets next year? Does he get less? Is Pope comfortable spending big money again on him to be PG1?
Think the NIL factor at play here for Lowe and Pope’s future roster construction are huge. I believe both parties felt he’d come in, have a good(not outstanding) season, then pay for him to return as a senior. Feels more muddy now.

I have never seen ANYONE outside of Cowboys fans give up on their teams faster than UK fans. It's still shocking to me almost every year even after 30 years on the boards.

Honestly, I watched some WWE during the bloodline stuff and didn’t think it was good (yeah I know I suck). WWE is way too polished and scripted these days. I thought that was the era where things started to really decline. I will say that I thought Legend Killer Orton was peak though, when he would go psycho and punt heads.
Wouldn’t shock me, his shoulder is obviously in a bad spot. I’d imagine at this point surgery is the best option and he doesn’t want to waste a year of earnings because of it. We are so cursed, but this may suck in the short term but cause us to really use Jasper and be better in the long run. I think Lowe could be very good but he’s not a defender.
Hell even ol Terry Pravis would be getting some run again.
I don’t agree but also we aren’t 3 games in. Half this board acts like we just lost to a D3 school or something. Get a grip. So I think this team is more talented than last year? Yes, but stop with crazy statements after just 3 games.
I don't think the anger is as much about losing as the way we lost. That was some of the most pitiful defense as I have seen UK play in years and some of our guys seemed out of it.

With a screen door on a submarine defense. And it's concerning because we just saw this a couple weeks ago against GT.
And it's not like it's a coach that doesn't understand. This is Mark Pope. They dude played for Rick. He knows what 40 minutes of hell are.
That's why its infuriating. For a Rick disciple, that defense is blasphemy.
It even happens to Rick teams, I know wild. New team, it will get better and no team will be perfect.

He’s had multiple accounts. He was also Booker66 or whatever he was caught multiple times making the exact same Typo with periods and some words. He’s a troll. He’s just a careful troll. I go back and forth with him just because I don’t care, but he’s likely UL. If you watch close enough no matter the situation, he puts UK down. He’s been doing this for a while. Never constructive, always snide stuff. He’s just a lot more careful.
Like I said I don’t know what’s going on with Lowe, but we are injured. It’s been obvious Low isn’t right, I watched him grimace multiple times and he’s rusty bad. Also Oweh isn’t right and turf toe is murking his game up. So there’s the reason the UL went like that. Very obvious. JQ also out, I mean is what it is.
If Mark is making mistakes right now that can hurt him long term, is miss evaluating on the health of these players and retaining guys that can’t go 100%. Should have had a serviceable PG from the lower ranks who might have taken a big jump. Evaluate Mark. He’s spaced too thin in key sports and even his big coup is an injured center. You can’t do this.
