Stuarts Draft 35 Buffalo Gap 34 Final

I will issue my formal apology to the Cougars next week when I assess that schedule. For now let's just say who knew they had it in them?
It certainly wont be nearly as good or thorough as @longtimerhsfan, as I am pretty busy on Friday nights, but I will give a quick recap of the game
SD got on the board 1st with a run by Freshman Aaron Nice. This wouldn't be the only time he found the endzone on the evening. 7-0. Buffalo Gap then scored and missed a rare attempt at an XP for a 7-6 score. Later in the 1st half, SD scored again to take the 14-6 lead on a pass to Freddie Watkins, only for Gap to score and get a 2 to knot it up at 14. Gap then took the lead on I believe a 65 yard INT return for TD by Rivenburg to make it 20-14 after a failed 2 point conversion. Right before the half, QB Henry Cooke connected a beautiful screen pass for a TD to Mr. Nice, and with the XP it was 21-20 going into the half.
Rivenburg would then add 2 TDs, one by way of ANOTHER pick 6 just before midway through the 3rd and 2 pt conversation to make it 28-21 followed by a run by the Senior Bison with a couple minutes left in the 3rd quarter to take a 34-21 lead. The XP was easily blocked. At this point, the visitors must have felt like they had taken control that they wouldn't relinquish, but the Cougars had other ideas.
With about 9 minutes to go in the 4th, Blake Roach scampered into the endzone to cut the lead to 34-28. With about 6 minutes to go, game driving to take more time off the clock and add the dagger, BG loses the ball on the ground and the Cougars recovered. The very next play, Freshman Aaron Nice goes 83 yards for the score. XP good and the Cougars regained the lead at 35-34.
The Bison (I believe Rivenburg) had another fumble late as the Cougars took over. Bison held, and forced a punt with somewhere around a minute to go. Gap reeled off a huge run on 1st down but with a hold came back. The Bison got a PI and had a last ditch effort cut short.
Buffalo Gap (4-3) faces East Rockingham (6-0) next week and Stuarts Draft (2-4) travels to Quicksburg to take on the Generals of Stonewall Jackson
