What are some things you’ve learned about yourself or your family being stuck in the house these last few weeks?

  • We make a LOT of garbage. Like emptying trash and recycling at least every two days. That’s never happened.
  • I don’t poop nearly as much as I did when I was working.
  • Daytime TV is absolute garbage. It’s gotten significantly worse. The guy is usually NOT the father, BTW.
  • Outside is nicer than I remember.

I’ve been off for two weeks and have worked harder around the house. Splitting firewood still sucks. I really enjoy my garden. Trying to clear the back 10 is a lot harder when you’re older and your son lives in Texas. Sitting around a fire pit listening to good music and drinking beer is one of my favorite things to do. I really like beer.

A lot of classics to rewatch online and Netfix, etc... damn glad we have high speed internet,
if this had happened in the 70's or 80's it would have been a helluva lot worse...
I watched Kill Bill and went straight into Kill Bill volume 2. Much better than watching them separate. Also rewatched There Will be Blood without interruptions.

I've learned that I'm a homebody but I have found my limits.

I hadn’t watched a movie start to finish in years, so sunday night i watched “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.” turns out it really sucked.
A friend told me this stay in place is making his effort to kick his addiction to porn even harder than before.

I have a screwed up back but I keep going over and helping my mom out around her house since she is all by herself. Sunday we pressure washed her privacy fence and deck. Monday I didn't get out of bed all day. Today we took down all the railing on her deck (2 floors worth) and cut and replaced it all. I'm anticipating spending all day Wednesday in bed. Told her if she needed more help then she will have to wait until Thursday. Probably will be helping her stain all that fencing and decking around then.

I'd rather do that stuff then be cooped up in the house with my wife and kids all day everyday. I don't know how anyone can put up with spending 24/7 with the family and no break from each other. I've said it before and will say it again. I expect there to be a bunch of divorces when all of this is over. People already stressing about Covid-19, work, money, etc. I expect people will start hitting their breaking point here soon.

Can concur with the TV part without a doubt. I used to always have my TV on. When this first started, kept it off for 3 days straight and even now it's off during daytime hours. I've just been watching the NASCAR iRacing series events and classic sporting games. Other than that, not much has changed from my routine. I am retired and never left home much anyway.

My wife’s middle name is Ellen
Hmmmm, my mistress's middle name is Ellen. I will have to ask her about that when she comes back.;)

I have not been able to stay home, work has actually picked up for me in last few weeks.

If the lady in your avatar is in the house no tv needed.

I see more of my son out of quarantine than in quarantine. Before, I was taking him to soccer practice three times a week, going to games, going out of town with him. Now he pretty much just hangs out in his room.
My 15 year old is on a sleep schedule of 3AM-3PM right now. I am only awake from 3PM-9PM with him . I make him walk the dog with me and he has his drivers permit so we have gone out practice driving. It's a great time to get on the interstate for the first time since there are hardly any vehicles out there.

Some of my observations:

- I really like this pace of life. House is cleaner than ever, yard looks great, my golf game is in top notch shape, and I am caught up at work

- We have only turned the main TV on in our house 7 or 8 times over the last 3 weeks and each time was to watch a movie

- Birds are awesome. With the nice weather we have been sitting out on the back porch a lot and the birds singing at dusk is really cool. We have a cardinal that comes to one of our trees we nicknamed Rockin Robin because he has so many different tunes.

- Puzzles are a great way to kill time and also calm anxiety. They are almost meditative. Put your favorite music on loud and it's even better.

- Marijuana is way better than booze

  • I'm only ever about a week behind at work, so it's not as bad as I thought.
  • My clients call my office phone before/after business hours hoping to leave a voice mail instead of talking to someone. They are surprised when I pick up.
  • Spankbang is better than pornhub
  • I wake up around 7 regardless of alarm

Personal observations from my WFH experience over the past couple weeks::

CNBC rocks! Cannot watch while at the office.
Our dog enjoys my time at home.
I average walking 3 miles daily.
No need for piggybacking on another network just to check out CatsIllustrated.
Snacks, snacks, snacks......
