just found out that when students are entering the game, they will scan our IDs to make sure no one uses them twice. so if you have an extra ticket for someone that doesnt have an ID, you cant just hand it back through the fence like you could in years past. kinda like the system they started for basketball, except that we have to have the ticket and ID

this is not true. Otherwise I will not be able to get in games this year.

Can anyone confirm this is true?

You are right. The scanners will be used for the "Bulldog Coalition" which is kind of a club to give students a head start into Bulldog Club. If students go to enough sporting events, they will get shirts, Bulldog Club points etc.

That's where this is going

Glad to hear that.. it's an idea I've been pushing for a couple years

It's a great idea.... a student is more likely to stay involved in the BC if they already have an "investment" into it when they graduate.
We have been horrible at capitalizing on this area of recent graduates.

I don't have to have a ticket, but I've been to every single home game (over an hour early and never left early), plus 19 of 23 away games over the last 4 years, and I'll continue the trend this year...it would be neat if we could get the same benefits, since we're actually there improving the atmosphere of the game.

Hate to be that guy, but they might have the scanners there for the future BC stuff but as for getting into the games there will no scanning of IDs. Info from the horse's mouth not the horse's ***.

I want the band to look good, because I want everything about our school/team/etc. to look good. But, I can't say as I've ever really watched them.

I guess that's why I don't get everyone that bitches about the halftime show. I don't think I've ever watched it. I'm glad they're there, because it adds to the atmosphere, but as long as it's cleanly performed and doesn't make us look like we're humping a football out there, who cares if it's the same stuff every year?

The band is there for atmosphere, not entertainment.

..buying a regular ticket and stop doing what amounts to stealing.

Just a wild idea, I know.

it's why 30 year olds can't order off the kid's menu or get the senior discount. Those discounted tickets are supplemented by activity fees and/or tuition. I think they should arrest you and throw away the key. Maybe you should cheer for JSU.

If you use a student ticket that they sold for $5 to get into a game that you (as a non-student) would have to pay $40 for a ticket, you're stealing $35 from the athletic dept. How much you did or didn't pay the student for the ticket is irrelevant.

goods or benefits for which you did not pay? While you ponder that, keep in mind full-time students pay activity fees.

Is it becoming more clear to you?

Sure they can survive without your $35 per game. but if there are a thousand douche bags just like you that do that for every game that is 35K per game or almost a quarter of a million dollars a year in lost revenues.

what is even more mind numbing is the fact you don't see anything wrong with it. I'll tell you what, how about I give you $35 to stay off my campus this weekend?

I bought one off my buddy who's going home so I can give it to my brother, partially because I want him to be in the student section with me.
