sticking a blade into another human to me for some reason is just about as barbaric as it gets.... don't get me wrong... I've got a pistol and would not hesitate to use it if I had to... I hope I never have to shoot anyone, but even in self defense, it would creep me out if I had to stab someone.. shooting someone who threatened me or my family would not creep me out.... even though I would hate having to do it, at least it wouldn't give me the creeps.

And assuming it's him, the only thing that surprises me is that it took him this long to wind up in jail...
The reason clay county jail, is because the city of Starkville does not have a jail. So all city prisoners go to the county jail. Since our county jail is full, the city pays west point around 150,000 dollars a year to house our prisoners there.
