I agree Elliot is no Dixon, but he was running wide open also. What was his avg per run? We shoved them around. It wouldn't have mattered who was at running back. As good as he was in the game, Dixon wasn't getting all those yards by himself. Can they not see that they were manhandled?

Yes, we lose a great RB in Anthony Dixon. But we will gain so much at quarterback next year (no matter if it's Newton or Russell) compared to what we had that we'll be better off in the end.

The guy averaged 12 yards every time he touched the ball as a true freshman with poor QB play behind him.

I think he'll be just fine.

That would be like UT saying they played a good game if it had not been for Dexter's 285 yards. Without him UT would have beaten OM. On Elliott, I think that as long as he is running downhill on the dive play he is fine. Right now I still do not think that he has fully recovered with his lateral movement.

Ole Miss will be better next year, but everybody else will be worse.

Running Relf surprised them, so that's why we won.

Zach Mason will evidently be the first tight end to win the Heisman.

They will not miss any of their graduating seniors.

We suck because we won 5 games with no quarterback, but they do not suck because they won 6 games against D1 schools with the most talent they have ever had.

There is simply no way that State will have an upgrade at QB next year.

And so forth...

...he's already said that Ole Miss will be the clear favorite in next year's Egg Bowl. Despite their personnel losses and the asswhipping they just took. Oh, and Ole Miss is the superior team this year, head-to-head results be damned.

Granted, losing Dixon will hurt, however, I believe we will be much deeper at RB next year than we are this year: Conner, Perkins, Elliot, Ballard, Neal and Henery (assuming he qualifies).
Whether its Newton or Russell, huge upgrade at QB and our young WRs will have a year under their belts. The two "receivers" that had the most receptions this season, Bumphis and Green are both back. Berry returns and Heavens and Smith have game experience. Add to that Sanders and possibly Thames, plus the incoming recruits, Bolden, Carr, Chisholm, Henry (again, assuming he qualifies), Johnson and possibly Love and Lewis, I think we will be fine at the skill positions.
The difference between this year and next year is that we should not have to rely on one RB to give us 1400 yards. I think we have 3 or 4 RBs capable of 500+ yards and we have at least 3 or 4 receivers that are capable of the same.

The 2009 team or the 2010 team?

I recall the 2009 team only lost a few players (never mind 2 of them were first rounders). How did that work out?

I think the 2010 Rebel team is losing more talent in sheer numbers alone. Is there a first rounder on the 2010 team? Who knows? The DL played as good as it did last year...until we made them our bitches this past weekend. We all know what the OL did (or didnt do) this year.
I really dont think it matters how much talen Ole Miss loses this year. Ole Miss doesnt rebuild, they reload. They have legitimate SEC blue chippers backing up starters at every position.
Anyone want to guess what Powe will score on the Wonderlic test?

Just in case anyone was curious, the fine folks that administer the Wonderlic test feel as though there is a "literacy problem" with anyone that scores less than a 10.

We lose Dixon, sure. But what the hell do they return at RB? They trusted bolden and Scott enough to give them 5 carries total against us. Their 5 star RB didn't sniff the field this year. Guaranteeing a win 12 months from now because MSU has a question at RB is laughable. Go ahead and let Snead throw it 40 times a game next season. Bring it on, Rubes!!

Patterson is proven. Proven that he is much worse than Bumphis. We should all be so thankful that Bumphis slipped down Yancy's Hot List and had to settle for us.

We were told repeatedly for months that Patterson was by far the better receiver and that we had gotten the leftovers in Bumphis. So yeah, that does deserve mention. I do think he'll be a pretty good player for them, but I wouldn't trade Bumphis for him for anything.
