This type of attitude is why I have always hated the Cardinals. You are free to hate the Red Sox and Yankees but please do not think your fan base is actually any better. Everyone who isn't a cards fan holds them in the same light. Barely above the Braves who are irritating because they are just as obnoxious but have won virtually nothing...

Kurt and I are long-time friends from college and will continue to needle each other in public forums when appropriate.
And please don't hate me because my team is so much better run than your team. But hey, keep painting our fanbase with the broad brush. What you don't realize is that the media has done a tremendous job of perpetuating the "best fans in baseball" moniker on Cardinals fans. Why? Maybe because they see something in our fan base that's a little different than others.... hell, I don't know. But what's really annoying about this, is that MSU does the same thing with our baseball team and it seems to be ok with most of the fanbase, even though half of this board has said "the whole Cardinals best fans in baseball **** is ridiculous and self-contrived and very ego-tistical". I hate to say it, but MSU's fan base needs a pot-meet-kettle slap when it comes to complaining about the Cardinals and "best fans in baseball".
Completely agree with you RE: MSU fans. Disagree on Boston mgt
I think Boston is incredibly well run and the 'anti' Yankees in terms of team management. We don't hold onto bad contracts or get too sentimental with players (outside of Papi which is even debatable with as productive as he remains). The mgt has been very good since Epstein got there in terms of not trying to build a dynasty but rather understand that they should try to build a team to make a run for 2-3 years then rebuild.
I do very much agree with you on MSU fans. That was the argument I attempted to make when a lot of our fans here were trying to say that we would need a new stadium and non drop ceilings in our clubhouse to win a championship. And, that we deserve a new stadium just because we are the greatest fans. I love our new stadium design and am glad for it. But, it isn't for me or because we 'deserve' it. If the 1985 theory was in effect and had happened, I would agree. But, we didn't win and we don't deserve ****.
