i decided to check out the era of the bullpen in the sunday games. for the games moore didn't pitch, i counted the game as a whole. i think bama put up 22 on us on a sunday but routt was the starter and we only played 2 games on the weekend so i didn't count it.

we allowed 91 earned runs in 61.2 innings. that's an era of 13.38. that's about as bad as it gets.

Polk left this team with 3 people that could start a game. Whitney, Bowen, and Moore. Moore got hurt and Bowen went into the crapper. Noone expected Routt to pitch the way he did. We didn't have enough SEC pitchers on the roster to even pitch the weekend series much less the midweek games. This is the worst pitching talent I have ever seen on a SEC team. Do people realize that we actually pitched outfielders to get through a SEC game.

And yes I realize what he had to work with. It was piss poor. BUT, if we are gonna pride ourselves as a school with a WINNING baseball tradition, all that really matters is Wins and Losses... When you look at it from that point of view, which I did, how can you give anything better than maybe a D since we did actually win a few games we shouldn't have?
