It really does amaze me the monotony and lack of imagination in our passing game. No go routes or deep routes, no quick slants or hot routes to speak of especially when the other team is blitzing, no screens, no RB draws, very little throwing to the backs coming out of the backfield, etc. Seems EVERY pass play has Russell in the pocket needing 4 to 5 seconds for the 15 to 20 yard horizontal routes to develop. Heck, that's asking a LOT of any college OL to hold off the pass rush that long on every play and its not like we have HS and JUCO All-Americans across the front. And the stranger part is that it seems in the past we have done all of these things I'm mentioning at least on occassion but we sure as heck aren't doing them now.
