At the risk of sounding like a total meatball, I must admit I'm predisposed to being attracted to these females covering prep sports. I loved Sarah K, loved Susannah C, and I really loved Jen L. I can imagine myself wanting to ask out Beth if we were to meet. I can also imagine a first date in which I would be pounding on the table before our first drink arrived, telling her she HAS to rank Loyola #2 or #3!

Too bad I'm off the market now and can't get to the bottom of this. I'm sure the female sports reporters of the world aren't looking for dates with the message board cretins anyways.

I agree Sept 25th against Stevie should be a good one. Stevie and LZ are the only two that had tough non conference games. Coach Jones should of looked for two half way decent non conference opponents. He should be confident enough with his team that he can get 6 wins in conference with this team.

I'd put SHG around 10-12, based on info from my people in Central Illinois. They are good (shocker, right?), but not as good as last year or the year prior. Time will tell, and they will likely come out of the south in 6A.

Very likely SHG will have a cake walk to championship game in 6a. The north could shape up to be a much tougher go. Yeas, Montini will be favored. However, Hinsdale South, Cary Grove, PC, could be tough outs.

I am a Benet dad I am shocked as well. While ND is good they did little to impress me that they are a top 25 team. if Benet avoids two early turnovers In the redzone ND would have been down 21-0. no way they are 17 or even 25 in my book. When has beating an unranked team (Benet who has 2 low quality wins) justified that?

Also two early turnovers yes but what if ND would of scored TDs instead of short FGs the score would of been different. By the way who has MC beating that is so good to hold the #2 spot. Who has Barrington beaten? Libertyville has beaten who? Simeon 1-2 and ranked why? MS still getting votes from some why? Didnt Oak Park go from NR to Ranked after 1 week? If Benet won, some would say expected. However when a team loses its a conspiracy, or just plain they didn't have a good night. I watched that game, Benet did nothing. Benet had TO's, personal fouls, chop blocks, hits in the back, and home field advantage. Granted all part of the game, but welcome to the ESCC. Every week is a playoff week. Everyone wants their 5 wins. ND is always underrated, but as we all know a 3-0 start for anyone is a good start.

Don't think I ever complained or said Benet lost in a conspiracy. If any of you could get past your Benet hate then I would think you could see (though clearly not) that I said that NDs win was unimpressive because Benet is not that good. Yes Benet is worse and if ND is the #17 team then the game should not have even been that close. I stand by my conclusion that when an NR team beats an NR team how does that justify a #17 ranking?
