I’m gonna go out on a limb here and hypothesize this halftime show isn’t gonna be for some of us. I think I can maybe name 2 Kendrick Lamar songs?
2 more than me.

Isn't he supposed to be important? The show's clearly not for me but I don't see anything all that interesting or innovative. Samuel Jackson is kinda cool. It certainly doesn't look like he has a DEI program for dancers and co-performers. Guess he's on board with the new DC agenda.

Still think the best halftime show I've seen recently was Lady Gaga. That just struck me as totally unimpressive. Should have just gone with Taylor Swift

I hope the bad calls and flags don't come out in the second half to get the Chiefs back into the game.

My two teenage daughters who are watching the game with me really liked the halftime show. It’s more geared for their age group. Not really as much for us old white guys.

Let me know when they come up with a halftime show. I have no idea what that was, but it was not worth watching. You can sell my old folk all you want to, but this is crap. Isn't the music during the halftime show supposed to be something that everybody likes, or at least a majority of everybody likes? When the crowd sang Country Roads Take Me Home, It was better than the halftime show. It's a better musical moment than it has been for the last several years of the Super Bowls.

ETA – the halftime show by Prince was the best one ever.

Maybe it has a show choir vibe?

If this is the point we start naming old bands we’d rather see I add Earth Wind & Fire.

My thoughts exactly. I don't expect every superbowl halftime to be classic rock, but they alienated 70% of their audience w that crap. My wife likes hiphop and even she muted the tv...and literally played My Adidas to hear something while watching the "choreography ".

And to sound less cranky... I had never heard of bruno mars before he played halftime a while back, and I became an instant fan. They can find something that's not terrible that middle america likes.

I’m not disagreeing with anything you’re saying, I’d only add I suspect the problem is there just isn’t a “middle America” anymore - we all kinda stay in our own sandbox, and they don’t overlap a whole lot.

The internet killed the mono-culture.
