we were moving the ball at will after the score was 14-0. We went up 21-14. Didn't do anything until Mullen went apeshit about the headsets. then we started moving the ball at will again.

Hey Mullen was running the same plays at Florida. So people know what to expect and how to stop us…Could be wrong.</font></p>

It's illegal to intercept wire communications, even if it's just for college football.

Could that have been the difference? We saw a lot more of our straight up run game - counters, delays, etc. vs. the read option game...and it was very effective.

Lets see... How many games did Croom win here? Pretty sure I'm responsible for at least a couple of those.

I was told by a friend that our coaches were still talking about Auburn eavesdropping at practice earlier this week. According to his source (who works in our athletic dept. and is at all our practices), our coaches were talking about / much angrier about that than any ref calls.<div>
</div><div>I don't know how we would know they were listening or how we could prove Auburn was listening, even if they were.</div><div>
</div><div>I know its been talked about on this board before and might be complete B.S., but apparently some on our coaching staff still believes it.</div>

He had asked me what the deal was with the refs running around and the headsets (he had been watching the game with it muted). After I told him about the discussion here he replied, "Hell, I figured that had been going on for years. Just an updated way to steal signs."

I have even given up on this. If it happened there isn't anything we can do because it can't be proven...unless other teams on auburns schedule record their communications and auburn is dumb enough to try it again

There was one play in particular that really seemed odd to our coaches. That's when Mullen went crazy. No way to prove it though.

two players met Relf in the spot he was going to, including the Auburn LB that made the "shhh" gesture to the Auburn sidelines during the headsetgate delay. Then after that, we move the ball almost at will on the drive.<div>
</div><div>not saying Auburn was listening in but if there was a top 10 list of schools that might do this, I would put them in that top 10 list.</div>

Even if they did listen in, how would they be able to rely that info to the defense? I mean there's not alot of time between when Mullen would signal in the play to when the ball is snapped. Or am completely wrong here?

Eltoro Freeman is clearly shown giving the "shhhhhhhhhh" finger and then doing the criss-crossing hands gesture to signal back to his sideline to be quiet. Assuming that this signal isn't a play call, how did Eltoro Freeman know that his sideline was talking about something that they didn't need to be. The only players on the field allowed to have radio communications is the QB, correct? The defense still has too signal in plays. It leads me to believe that Freeman had communications to his sideline.

But remember, this is just me thinking outloud. I have no proof of anything.

No college players have in-helmet radios.

The Freeman/Roof gestures are whats interesting. If the sideline was relaying in what they overheard, with all the cameras that are used during games, one of them would have a shot of something.

against our offense, is well, far fetched.

I think Pine belt is right.

****, we are talking about football coaches here. Not linguist code breakers.

You just call a stunt to where the play is going. How are calls ever made? They are signaled in from the sideline. It's not hard. </p>

It's not like the play call is "Relf sprint to the right and throw a pass". They would have to first decipher what the call actually means then relay to a defense within 25 seconds. Actually, less than that if we were in a hurry up. If they were listening, then it's definitely shady and bush league but I can't see how they could relay any info to the field in that short of time.
