We've had a very good season. Best in over a decade. But I think it ends this weekend. Probably in 2 low scoring close games.

I just hope we play a good series

Win in two or three or lose in two or three just play solid baseball. No more games where we have as many errors as a coach pitch game and no controversial calls by the umpiring crew along the lines of saying Renfroe did not touch 3rd base. I am still ticked off about that world series game with the Braves where they said David Justice missed 3rd when replay showed him kicking up chalk off the bag when he rounded it.

Dawgs in 3. Lose Saturday (Graveman gets eaten alive). Win Sunday (lefties, especially R. Mitchell win in a tight one). Win Sunday, our bullpen strength shows through while our timely bats come through again.

^I agree. They have big bats and lots of LHP. We don't hit LHP well.

So if they score 4 or more runs, odds are not in our favor. We cant afford to **** the bed defensively like we did in the starkville regional. They are too good for us to overcome errors, LHP, and big bats.

If we could manage to win the 1st I think we could win the series. I just don't see it happening.

If renfroe hits like last game, we win series. If he hits like the month before the last game, we lose the series. I think the draft takes a ton of pressure off him and he knocks the cover off the ball. State wins series

I'll take the Hoos in 2 or 3. Preferably 2. How long our starting pitching lasts will be a key for us. We have a good bullpen, but not sure it's of MSU caliber, so we need to get the best from our starters.

Dawgs in TWO. Holder cuts 'em down in a tight game Saturday, then we blow up their #2 while our bullpen cruises Sunday.

That's an awful lot of optimism to have going up against a team like Virginia, who in my opinion had a top 3 season, but they are "first and second year" at a lot of key positions and the Cavs program under O'Connor has been known to choke at home in the postseason.

Side bet: Crowd shots of John Grisham, O/U set at 3.5 per game.

If Graveman, R. Mitchell, and Girodo pitch like they did last weekend, we should be in Omaha barring just a pathetic offensive and defensive showing. But we are certainly capable of that.
