If not for Joe Penn State and football would be an unknown. But you already know that.
cl Penn Staters support the school, not one cach.
But they clog up this board especially the game day threads.Good for them. Not who I am referring to.
You must be new here.

No one stays on message like you! Thanks for a nice laugh to start my day. Im off now to play golf in 45 degree weather
Real Penn Staters support the school, not one coach.
We can not continue to be a divided fanbase/alumni and expect it not to affect the coach and therefore the team. THATāS silly. How does this boards support influence his performance? I agree he should be supported, but thatās silly
You obviously have no reliable inside information or connections. You stated your āinsiderā said PSU was pursuing Elko (which was what everyone was saying) and then Hartline was the backup. Your miss on Hartline exposed either your insider or yourself as a fraud. You apparently take publicly available information/rumors, take a position based upon what you want to be true, and then state your position as though it is insider information. You have already been outed as a non-insider so quit posing as one.I understand why you believe it was a good move (not hard to grasp) but it's frightening you dont see the problems it may create (explained by others though I can dumb it down for you if needed) especially it it wasn't fully his decision.
This stipulation drove other coaches away FYI
Time will tell but there's a ton of risk to it
Let's look forward. Spending time obsessing about Joe, Billy, or James is pointless. The past is past.
I'm going to support Matt.

Correct--we limited our options and Campbell has another obstacle to overcome--it explains the alleged issues with our search
Maybe Kraft was worried we wouldnāt have enough things left to question and b|tch about. This could be his Christmas gift to the serial b|tchers and moaners.
If it indeed is part of Campbellās terms of employment, I have to imagine he is fine with it. Otherwise he simply could have turned down the offer as others supposedly did. Itās not as if he was beating down Kraftās door, desperate to come here.
That BOT was clearly not PSU bIf that were the case, then "real Penn State fans" would have supported the BoT's termination of Joe. But, they didn't.

Are you allowed to pick two? Or three if you really hate 1?Wrong. We must have factions. You must choose. Joe, FLO., Franklin, or Campbell. Donāt try to tell us that you can simultaneously support or respect two or more at the same time.
Not everyone was saying we were pursuing Elko--I said that way before anyone else did--there's date available for you and countless people said we wouldn't do that. You obviously have no reliable inside information or connections. You stated your āinsiderā said PSU was pursuing Elko (which was what everyone was saying) and then Hartline was the backup. Your miss on Hartline exposed either your insider or yourself as a fraud. Iām in and optimistic. I like having long-tenured coaches and an identity.
I was behind James as well, but never fully believed to be honest.
But you said, "support the school." What does that mean? Sounds to me like you want the alumni and fans to be nothing more than an "Amen Corner." There is nothing wrong with disagreement, and nothing wrong with reasoned discussion. And if people feel particularly strongly about something, why should they not support that? Ultimately, we can agree to disagree. But I still think it is up to the individual whether they want to support something they don't believe in, just because they earned a degree from the school years ago ("Just fans" come and go as they please).Unless they felt the BOT was wrong. But after it happened, you move on and continue to support the programs even if you feel they were wrong. I thought Joe was a scape goat, I hated how it ended, but I still want every Penn State team to win and every coach to do well. And I donāt try to tie Joe Paterno into everything the school does moving forward.
You are right, but why spit in the wind? You obviously have no reliable inside information or connections. Here is the ONLY rule I levy on Campbell.
No. Names. On. The. Uniforms!
As a proud, unapologetic āJoebotā, I fully support Matt Campbell!!!Let's look forward. Spending time obsessing about Joe, Billy, or James is pointless. The past is past.
I'm going to support Matt.
It means you gotta support the guy that replaces the guy that replaces Campbell. Need to be a few steps ahead"Let's look forward"?
Does this mean we ignore Campbell and support the guy who is going to replace him?
Nobody told me fandom was going to be this existential.
I'm going to go watch Interstellar instead, so I can figure out time travel. Figuring out the rules of being a fan is too hard.
Come on Lando why would anyone think keeping Terry would be a bad thing? What does it matter how it came about? Did you question OāBrien keeping LJ Sr. too? Frankly, given the circumstances I think itās incredible that Terry convinced a 4 star QB from Nazareth and a 4 star DE from Malvern Prep to sign on Wednesday.Debatable on two counts
1...was it a good move?
2...was it his move/decision or terms of his employment?
I don't understand why that is either. Who in their right mind blames the guy that recruits the players, selects his coaching staff, allocates NIL money, directs his coordinators on the overall strategy of the offense and defense, handles clock management, and makes critical punt/field goal/go for it decisions on 4th down when clearly it is the JoeBots to blame for not fully supporting His Majesty? There is also a sizable number in every fan base who blames every loss on the coach no matter whatā¦.i guess it makes it easier for them when theyāre arguing with their buddies.
Despite my thoughts on Kraft, I will fully support Campbell just like I supported Joe, OāBrien and Franklin because as a 65 year fan I hope anyone who is the head coach wins every game.Matt Campbell will need our full, undivided support to reach his and our goals for the team. I hope he is given the opportunity to be himself and not asked to be someone he isnāt. He is the son of a football coach in Ohio, played at a highly successful powerhouse Mt. Union, and won at both Toledo and Iowa State, where it is a major challenge to be successful. Heāll need some time to mold the team to his vision, but I believe in his long term success at PSU.
I will but donāt bet on it with the We Deserve Better crowd. He will be given the grace he deserves after a complete rebuild by fans who are not vested in an agenda. Those who cannot see past the Paterno and Franklin eras will never be satisfied.
A logical take that many will find illogical *sigh*Real Penn Staters support the school, not one coach.
Amen. LOL.I will support him until the team fails to convert its first third down. Then itās time to fire him and start the back up quarterback.
No offense to Franklin, who did good things at PSU, but there was never a consistent offensive identity under his tenure (evidenced by the revolving door of unsuccessful OCs) so not sure if a parallel can be drawn. My position exactly. Having said that, I've already read that Campbell runs an offense not too different than what PSU did under Franklin's tenure, BUT evidently has a greater emphasis on execution. We'll see.
Exactly.Unless they felt the BOT was wrong. But after it happened, you move on and continue to support the programs even if you feel they were wrong. I thought Joe was a scape goat, I hated how it ended, but I still want every Penn State team to win and every coach to do well. Why do I always think about the old saying about being almost always wrong but never in doubt whenever I see your never ending posts?Correct--we limited our options and Campbell has another obstacle to overcome--it explains the alleged issues with our search
Yeah me too just like I did OāBrien and Franklin. Some of us can walk and chew gum at the same time huh?As a proud, unapologetic āJoebotā, I fully support Matt Campbell!!!
But, can, you, learn, how, to, use, commas,?Yeah me too just like I did OāBrien and Franklin. Some of us can walk and chew gum at the same time huh?

Because you dislike reality and like to live in a fantasy world? Why do I always think about the old saying about being almost always wrong but never in doubt whenever I see your never ending posts?
Easy to support Campbell IMO
Good man. May your cart girls look like this:No one stays on message like you! Thanks for a nice laugh to start my day. Im off now to play golf in 45 degree weather
I've been on both sides of similar situations. Both individual bring something different to the party. If they can settle on the objective/goal and define the roles of each, it can work and it can work well.I understand why you believe it was a good move (not hard to grasp) but it's frightening you dont see the problems it may create (explained by others though I can dumb it down for you if needed) especially it it wasn't fully his decision.

Smith isn't an elite coach...the logic is flawedI've been on both sides of similar situations. Both individual bring something different to the party. If they can settle on the objective/goal and define the roles of each, it can work and it can work well.
Terry put himself out there by saying he wanted the job. He didn't get it and I'm sure he's disappointed. But, he wants to stay at Penn state, so hel'' have to suck up a little pride and move on.
If Campbell is smart, he'll recognise what terry brings to the table and take advantage of it. Give him a defined role, achievable goals and get out of his way
