I have the Monster brand. It’s abour a hundred buck.Had a close by lighting strike two days ago they took out my desktop,3 out of 5 rokus, modem,router and phone. All except the rokus were connected to surge protectors. Any thoughts on surge protectors?

I had to replace my main breaker box last year and my house wasn't adequately grounded so two additional rods were put in the ground. Something like that might be helpful in a close by hit, a direct hit might cause any setup problems. As an IT/AV professional, we use Surge-X surge suppressors.

While they probably won’t protect you from a lightening strike, they are industrial strength and will absorb a bigger spike than most other brands. If you don’t mind spending a few dollars more than other brands
