and included in the med school enrollment are the residents. Residents have graduated from med school butcontinue training in a specialty for 3-7 years. They are no longer students, butstate employees who receive a salary. So while the residents should notbe included in OM's school enrollment numbers, they DEFINITELY should not be included in state funding per student numbers. UMC gets over $100,000 a year from the federal government for each resident, and of course those funds aren't counted in "state funding per student" numbers.
