What is not wrong is that the fact that the last three games Mount Airy has begun to really get its act together. It may have started with the Saint Stephens game but that game could have been lost. Since then, the coaching staff has appeared to mature and figured out they have a lot of talent to work with.

Players are now playing with energy and purpose. While still not having played a single game with all staters available to be on the field, perhaps this fact has settled in that playing time is not a right, not divinely theirs but rather something to be taken for granted.
They also seem to be moving rapidly toward being a well-oiled machine.

If no more injuries, Mt Airy may very well be ready to be a force in the 3A playoffs.

QB best I have seen st MA throwing since......we'll ever. MS is playing like a real that's been humbled and are hungry to win. Will be tough out in playoffs.

That QB gives his receivers a chance to make a play. Very accurate on long ball. I watched him in warmups didn't miss.

TD I know you helped me out by telling me that 35 points was now a running clock, and I did appreciate that a lot, now I have another question. Used to be that running clocks didn’t start until the second half.
Can you have those in first half now?

To streamline game management and enhance player safety, the new NC high school running clock rule includes the following points:

• The running clock will be implemented in the second half of games when one team leads by 35 points or more.
• The clock will continue to run even during timeouts and injuries, except for the final two minutes of the game.

Hopefully, Third Floyd will get back this week to get ready for East Surry and the playoff games. I think it is a concussion they are holding him out for. He was the only one, I think, who was missing last week.

I have heard Floyd will play very little if any, his concussion was severe, so they are going to be very careful.

North Surry or West Stokes, it was before the Forbush game.

57 is not on the roster, and I only heard on the radio about Third Floyd. There is a 67. Of course, MaxPreps is not always right if not updated by ever who is responsible from the school. Could be moved up from the JVs.

MA JVs were ahead 50-something to zero. While getting ready to shoot the 2nd half, they announced that the coaches had decided to end the game at halftime, so I shot a photo of the scoreboard and left. That was the only time that had ever happened for me in my 10 years with the newspaper. That thought always hits my mind when MA plays SC JVs.
