Doesn't Nutt do this every year for the Bama game? Sits players to keep them from getting injured or further injured.

I want to say that historically if an ole miss player is being punished during the season for something they did preseason, then they miss non-conf games. So that would make me think its a recent issue.

Could be wrong, though.

Nutt couldn't afford suspensions in their nobody games for fear they might lose. This smells like waiving the white flag in advance of kickoff. I'm not buying that all 4 of them suddenly got in trouble this week.

Bolden obviously would have started, but Tank Washington is a worthless fatass who is a senior and still doesn't play, Philander Moore barely gets on the field, and AJ Hawkins can't hold down the center spot.

We are going to get steamrolled whether they play or not.

The bigger issue is that you have players getting suspended mid-season when you have a Top 5 team coming to town. It's like Nutt wants to make it even MORE obvious that he has absolutely no ability to coach an SEC team anymore.

This was the kind of stuff you saw towards then end of the O and Sherrill years- guys don't give a **** anymore so they start doing whatever they want.

pretty ****** morals if you suspend players mid-season for something they did preseason. If Mullen suspended Cox for the Bama game instead of Memphis, it would've pissed me off. That **** is uncalled for and a bad way to run a program.

I think it was last year Sowell got suspended for the northern Arizona game for something he did in the offseason. I think it was like the 8th game of the year. Might have been others suspended too, can't remember who but I remember Sowell.

showshe will dish out suspensions when it best fits his needs. 2009 Northern Arizona - Bradley Sowell and John Jerry both sat out suspensions from the spring in a November game. Nutt was quoted as saying he wanted to sit them out earlier in the year vs SE Louisiana, but too many players had the flu for that game.

Maybe they screwed up this week, but Nutt's history says it doesn't matter. He can't afford to wait for the LA Tech game and take a loss by sitting the 4 of them.

He could beat like UNA. He could have sat on it this all year and waited to see how the season unfolded.

Nutt doesn't have the luxury of suspending them against someone he knows he can beat, because they don't have a gimmie left on their schedule. Might as well play them against someone they know they can't beat.

...when we play Bama we should suspend the starting 11 on both sides of the ball.

In fact.... Give the ball to Favre. Here ya go, kid.. knock'em dead!

..how Mullen is not living up to the $2.5 million investment MSU has made in him.

But if I'm not mistaken, Nutt makes even more than Mullen.

If I was a Forward Rebels member, my top priority would be to retrieve the armored car full of money Nutt has stolen from the University of Mississippi.

which is the biggest reason Mullen gets $2.5. If OM hadn't blown their wad over Nutt and overpaid him I'd would think Mullen would be around 1.8-2.0. Thanks Ole Miss**

1. Rests Bolden in a game they weren't going to win anyway. Remember, next week is Arkansas in Oxford, which they always feel is winnable.
2. Gives him an excuse to burn some redshirts for all the freshman the Ole Miss boosters hepped this winter.

1. Nobody feels that the Arkansas game is winnable. Their whole team is built around offense. We have zero shot of being able to keep up with them offensively. Any Ole Miss fan that told you we have a chance to win that game is a complete idiot.

2. None of the people that will be playing in place of the suspended players will be burning a redshirt. Moncrief, Brassell, and Singleton have already played. Swindall and Junen have played. Jeff Scott has started since Bolden got hurt in Week 1.

By all means piss all over Ole Miss when stupid **** like this happens, but at least have some idea what the 17 you're talking about.

They were suspeneded for skipping practice on Tuesday because of a test. They used the excuse that they had class after their test and that's why they couldnt make it to practice, but that apparently wasn't the case. They were dismissed from class immediately after the test which was 30 minutes before practice

Seriously, your captain and best player is skipping practice the week of the Bama game? Nutt did the right thing to suspend them, but the fact it even happened is not good.</p>
