I didn’t realize until checking the box score that Sutton played 39 minutes today. King needs to get his confidence back in a hurry because Sutton can’t keep playing that many minutes. Hopefully he can begin to in our next game against Central Arkansas. I have my doubts but he’s obviously got something going on between his ears. Outside of a layup, he banked in a shot unintentionally and put up two air balls.

Before the season even started I remember some posters saying that Sutton seemed like the typical tough, hard nosed Mack type player. I have to agree so far. He fits very well in this play style and was a great get for the Cards. And the best part is he is only a junior right now.
But yeah if VJ can get on track the depth on this team would be even greater. I think Mack and staff will help VJ get straightened out before all is said and done.

To his credit, Sutton is able to play that many minutes and stay out of foul trouble. He looks out of control,but it's the furthest thing from it.
Sutton is the ultimate team player. What he lacks in size and height he makes up for with heart, hustle, and pure grit. Wish we had a roster full just like him.

Agree with poster that pointed out min played. He will run out of steam playing that much. Mack is still trying to get to know these players. Love Sutton!
I haven't totally given up on VJ just yet. I know he has zero confidence right now but I too think coach Mack will be able to salvage him as a player. He has all the tools. His issue right now is between the ears.
I think he did get a bit tired but dude doesn’t quit (unless it’s cable). His play is infectious.
I hope VJ gets it going for his sake. From all accounts he really is working hard at his game and just not translating to game results. That drive the basket was a huge bucket at a critical point in the game hoping that gets him some confidence.
I also noticed that after VJ missed an open three from the corner, instead of hanging his head, he hustled down the court and got a key rebound which resulted in another U of L basket on the other end.
I think everybody needs to relax so that VJ can relax.
The great thing about this team is that it’s tough for opposing teams to lock down one or two U of L players. Each night a different Card takes the wheel. Enjoy the games.

I seem to recall employing a sports psychologist, name escapes me. Might not be a bad idea for VJ. Clearly has some confidence issues.
If I remember correctly, I think Crum employed a sports psychologist for Damion Dantzler as well.
Dr. Stanley Frager IIRC who taught at UofL. I knew there was someone besides Griff but couldn't recall who.
