Been a long time since we've played Hertford County. They used to whip us pretty bad back in the ol' 3A Big 8 conference. I don't know why we haven't played them recently. It's an easy drive, pretty much a straight shot. Takes about an hour. Can't say I know much about them either, other than they played Tarboro every year recently, until this year. I do know that they fell to earth last season, after enjoying many victories with an outstanding dual threat QB.
I hope we have a better offensive showing than we did last week vs Nash Central. If not, hopefully our defense will shine again. And hopefully, I'll have signal up there to give live reports.

SWE responds with a 65 yard drive. Sweet runs with no less than 8 yards per carry, followed by a 30 yard play action TD pass. Bad snap on the PAT. Holder picks it up and passes. Pass tipped by defender and caught by offensive lineman. Ineligible man down field called.

Early assessment: HC is gonna need to run more kickoffs back to score. Our lines are killing theirs.

17 yard QB keeper to the 1. False start messes everything up. Ends up being 4th and goal from the 1, and we attempted a back corner pass. Incomplete.....but pass interference on the defense called. Next play, TD 2pt good.

I don't see how they ran the opener back, because the last two kick offs haven't been returned past the 15.

26 yard run to the HC 23. Then it looks like we tried out a few things that didn't work, and turned the ball over on downs.

HC busts a nice 27 yard run up the gut. Sideline infraction in next play takes all lot of those yards away.

Finally half-time. Referees consulting every other play has stretched this game out. Hopefully, well get a running clock, because I have no interest in being in the bowels of Hertford County at 10pm lol.
This is an unfair fight. HC has no business even having 7 points. Missed tackles allowed them to run the opening kick back. Every since then, SWE has had their way. The offensive line is bowling their defensive line over. Our backs are aren't getting touched until they in line with their DBs and our QB hasn't been rushed all game. Defensively, HC has had more than 10 to go most of the game. Multiple sacks, multiple TFL, and multiple destroyed punts. This has been a dominating first half by SWE.
