a state fan all his life, really wanted to go to State, and we never gave him a second glance. A reporter even asked Croom about it after a UAB game and all Croom could say was they missed him.

Went to Prep. Not offered by State or Ole Miss. One of the top FG kickers and punters in the country.
UAB looks like they've done a pretty good job of picking up players like Swayze who were over looked by the big boys. They are pretty young on defense. Hope to God we haven't scheduled them again any time soon.
There is no other reason he didn't get a look other than where he went to school.
Never mind that kicker is a position where you be competitive no matter where you play.

sometimes they do, but many times they have to wait til sophomore or junior year. We've offered him a walk-on spot I believe.
Croom has mastered the art of not signing players who have MSU ties. Water's little sister goes here but naturally Croom would overlook a good player who wanted to play here.
