The Cougars open the season on the road against county rival EW. A lot of high expectations for the Warriors this season, and think they comes out the gate with a runaway victory. EW 51 G 12

Tigers 🐅 open this season on the road, coming off a 4th round playoff lost last season to Northeastern. The Tigers 🐅 are ready to hunt, and the Saints are in their path. JK 47 SW 0

MIDWAY @ HOBBTON
These two teams are no strangers to each other, County rivals that have put up a lot of points against each other in the past few seasons. This game may be different with the Wildcats switching from their air raid passing offense to the wing t. I think the Raiders comes out fast, but will need to hold off the Wildcats in the end. AYDEN-GRIFTON @ (13)PRINCETON
AG surprised everyone last season by winning their conference championship, and they had a deep run in the playoffs. While the Bulldogs from Princeton was a hit and miss all season. Can the Chargers keep the momentum going and start the season off right? Princeton lost a lot, but they are returning an 1800 yard running back. Who ever gets the last stop wins this one. P 34 AG 28

Another set of County rivals will open the season against each other. The Falcons had an undefeated regular season last year, before losing in the second round of the playoffs. With both teams ranked in the top 20 of their preseason new classifications. This should be a good one, I think that the Falcons are a step ahead of the Eagles at this point of the season. SPRING CREEK @ UNION
There is a hype surrounding the Union Spartans football program right now. They have been down for quite a while now, but are looking to take a step in the right direction. The Gators lost their best player via transfer, they'll be looking for someone to step up and lead the way. U 42 SC 14

GAME OF THE WEEK
(7)EAST DUPLIN @ (6)WALLACE ROSE HILL
This County rivalry has been must see over the years, and this game will be no different. The Panthers looks to bounce back from a 6-6 season, and no better way to start, with a opening at the Dog Pound. The Bulldogs will be breaking in a new OC, and a new DC. Both teams returns a group of kids that will be fired up for this one. I think the dogs 🐕 will start fast, but the Panthers will make the right adjustments and will almost pull the comeback off. WRH 28 ED 24

Imma take union. Spring creek still the worst team around until proven otherwise.

Ngl I’m excited for this one. I was real impressed with hobbton both times I saw them. Also saw some good things from midway too. Imma roll with the team with I believe the best athlete on the field and that’s hobbton with Reggie Thompson. Love the new scheme they running now clearly as it is WRH old OC.

EW gonna be really good I think. Goldsboro not so much.

I have talked abt JK in other threads but I think they got the best team in the area rn . And I think SW one of the worst teams in the area, ion even know the coaching situation. This one gone get ugly quick

Rosewood vs CB Aycock
I was impressed with Aycock at the ED scrimmage, they looked the part and may improve on what they were last year .on the other hand I think rosewood lost a lot and had one of the worst JV teams around. Imma bet on Aycock being about the same as last year and rosewood taking a step back.

Princeton vs AG
This one of the best games around. Princeton was on and off like 07 13 said last year. They had their moments but I actually was impressed w what I saw at the Princeton scrimmage the other night. They got a good lil back and a solid o line I think they take a step forward. I think AG takes a small step back from their impressive 3rd round run last year.

GAME OF THE WEEK
ED vs WRH
This one of the best games of the year every year and we getting it week 1. Of course WRH is going through a change of scheme on both sides of the ball right now and I definitely think they gone be a different team by the end of the season, but I see east Duplin season going the same way. I wasn’t overly impressed with ED at either scrimmage I was at, I thought they a lil small and unathletic to be honest. But we all know they one of the best coached teams in the state and I know Holley and crew will have them ready and they will be better every week. I think this game gonna come down to the WRH offense. If the line get healthy and they can block for lamb up front I think Wallace could run away with this one. If not I think it’s gone be a tight low scoring game. I love the way Wallace rose hill new defense look with the DC from James Kenan putting his new system in. On the other hand the offense need some work but I know coach Mott and our new offensive coach from Columbus county can get it figured out. Give me a low scoring ballgame here with the dawgs coming out on top being its at legion stadium !

Not bad for a to small unathletic team. Thought some of all would learn not to go by what Battle does in a scrimmage

After watching game I stand by what I said. And I mean that in the most respectful way possible, I don’t mean any harm. I respect the ED program. I still think you guys are small and unathletic. I just think we that bad as a football team. Offensively couldn’t execute nothin out there and struggled against the pass on defense. I really don’t think east Duplin is great I just think we made it look that way tonight man. We got a long long way to go. And old way I hope this don’t come off the wrong way. I respect battle and that staff more than anybody man . They could make a team of scarecrows play good football fasho. Impressed with what they have done with that group . Bulldogs will progress tho!

I can agree with ED being not the biggest team especially on the Oline and it still has a lot of work to do to get better. And they will get better. But ED skilled guys might be amongst some of most athletic guys ED has ever had as a whole. I said amongst not the best ever. But Battle did hold back in the scrimmages and play everyone the team more than the starters as usual.
Wallace is a bigger team and is huge on the Oline. They going to be fine. Im sure of that. Anyway on to next week and good luck
