MY PICKS (5-1 Last Week) 5-1 on the season
(20)GREENE CENTRAL @ GOLDSBORO
The Cougars open the season in a bad way, being routed by rival Eastern Wayne 54-0. Looks like nothing has changed in Goldsboro. While the Rams opened the season with a shutout win over North Lenoir. I expect the same results from both teams this week. GC 44 G 0

(19)NORTH DUPLIN @ (17)ROSEWOOD
Another tough opponent for the Eagles this week, as former conference foe North Duplin Rebels come calling. Both teams struggled on offense in their openers, but ND was able to secure the win over Southside 21-0. They only had one offensive touchdown. These two teams are familiar with each other, and I think the Rebels defense is for real. I'm going with ND 27 R14
MIDWAY @ (15)CLINTON
Both of these teams surprised me in their openers, Midway shutout Hobbton, while Clinton took care of Lakewood on the road. I was surprised because Hobbton and Lakewood had strong showings in their scrimmage games, I guess that's why they were scrimmages. Clinton is banged up, I believe they were down to qb3 last week. Qb1 should be ready to go in this one. This is a hard pick for me to make, cause I seen what Hobbton was working with, and Midway shut them out. Another rivalry game, is Midway defense that good? And is the Dark Horses on their way back to normal? M 21 C 6

SOUTHERN WAYNE @ SPRING CREEK
The battle of two programs that has been down for years. The Saints didn't put up a fight against JK last week, falling 56-3 with the clock running with about 8min left in the first half. While the Gators has to wait until Monday night before they can take the field for the first time this season. I believe that both teams will be fighting for their first win of this season, cause i have picked Union to beat SC whenever the game is played. I think SW will have more fire power than SC. SW 38 SC 14
(6)WALLACE @ (17)KINSTON
This would have been the game of the week if both teams would have won last week, but neither did. The Vikings let a lead slip away in a lost to South Central on the road. While the new look Bulldogs offense never showed up in their opener against East Duplin 21-0. This is another hard one to pick being so early in the season. I would like to see more from both teams. I know ED was able to complete some passes on the Bulldogs, and that's all Kinston will be looking to do. I think Wallace has the better defense, while Kinston has the better team at this point. I believe the Bulldogs will calm their faithfuls down and show us who they really are. WRH 28 K 7
GAME OF THE WEEK
(13)PRINCETON BULLDOGS @ (7)EAST DUPLIN PANTHERS
This should be a good one! The Panthers will face their second team of dogs, the only difference is these dogs are bringing an ooffense with them. The Panthers surprised everyone with their shutout win last week 21-0 over Wallace, a team that hadn't been shutout in 17yrs i think. ED just keep proving how good their coaching staff is. Princeton gave up 35 points in their win last week, and I think that's too many points to give up to the Panthers. I don't think the Bulldogs can outscore the Panthers. P 17 ED 42
My Tigers takes this week off before we step up in weight to face 5a powerhouse Southern Nash.
