eh, Maryland ain't much. In the current system where it's now a financial free-for-all, I wouldn't want to be doing anything to help out a big dog like Oregon.
When we started our contract with UA during the Spurrier era they had just started their athletic shoe business. The first generation UA cleats were bad, but many other football programs, including Notre Dame, use UA gear. I think Nike offered a sweeter deal, probably greased a few palms.
If Nike attracts more elite talent then go with Nike.

This.Personally I like Under Armour clothes and apparel way more than Nike. UA has better styling and a better fit in my personal opinion.

I will agree to disagree, I work Part time at Dicks sporting goods, Seeing More and More Kids asking for UA vs Nike. Years back it was NIKE< now it is about even with the Kids..
This is especially true with basketball. The only kids that wear Under Armour sneakers are scholarship players for the handful of programs that have UA contracts. The only two professional players that wear them are Steph Curry and De'Aaron Fox. They never caught on in the basketball space and probably will pull back entirely once Steph retires.
If a player doesn't go to a team because of the brand shoes they wear, he wasn't going there anyway.
You have to remember that these basketball kids can have deals now going to college. Shoe companies are developing relationships with the families of these top recruits at around 14-15 years of age, sometimes earlier. Of course, they are going to steer them to the schools that they have contracts with. I know some of you hate Nike, but the business world is about money and access to people that can make them money more so than politics.
I'm thinking about football recruits. I really don't care too much about basketball. I agree the kids who have deals with shoe companies will gravitate to colleges with the same shoe brand.
If you are an athletic director, you have to care for the health of all of your sports. Yes, football is the #1 money maker, but basketball is 2nd. So, the health of that program is important and we have been letting it die on the vine for far too long. When you couple that with Nike being a stronger brand in the football as well, this decision seems to be a no-brainer to me. Should have been done 3-4 years ago.

Why would you need to replace your UA clothing? There aren't any laws being broken if you continue wearing them.
