On3 on X: "REPORT: South Carolina is expected to switch from Under Armour to Nike ahead of the 2026-27 school year, per @postandcourier

Aren't we supporting Maryland indirectly already? What's the difference? We're in more recruiting fights with Maryland...When you switch to Nike, aren't you really just indirectly supporting Oregon?
eh, Maryland ain't much. In the current system where it's now a financial free-for-all, I wouldn't want to be doing anything to help out a big dog like Oregon.Aren't we supporting Maryland indirectly already? What's the difference? We're in more recruiting fights with Maryland...
Yes, I was just being a bit facetious.TCU wore Nike, so our new AD Jeremiah Donati, must have a good relationship with Nike and got a better deal than UA.
I don't think what Nike makes off us or us signing with them really impacts Phil Knight's decision making on what he gives to Oregon, what's his latest gift $2 billion, 2 days ago for cancer relationship to Oregon. Oregon is getting there's no matter what, and Mr., Knight already has plenty to give.
When we started our contract with UA during the Spurrier era they had just started their athletic shoe business. The first generation UA cleats were bad, but many other football programs, including Notre Dame, use UA gear. I think Nike offered a sweeter deal, probably greased a few palms.I always heard that UA cleats were bad. Maybe now our players can stay up lol
Keep wearing it. I'm still wearing Russell Gamecock shirts. People don't have to imitate the lemmings.I guess I have to stop hating on Nike. I donāt like their clothes. Prefer UA. Plus I canāt afford to replace all my UA clothing
This.Personally I like Under Armour clothes and apparel way more than Nike. UA has better styling and a better fit in my personal opinion.
Besides arenāt we supposed to be boycotting Nike for peddling leftwing disinformation and political activism nonsense?![]()
Based on what poll?I think this is a big deal with recuiting. Kids are way more into the swoosh and Jumpman than UA.
Based on being in touch with the youth. Itās fairly common knowledge.Based on what poll?

I'm an AND1 guy myself.Keep wearing it. I'm still wearing Russell Gamecock shirts. People don't have to imitate the lemmings.
Not me, HATE Nike, Taters can have it... Will not purchase any SC Nike gear!!I guess I have to stop hating on Nike. I donāt like their clothes. Prefer UA. Plus I canāt afford to replace all my UA clothing
I will agree to disagree, I work Part time at Dicks sporting goods, Seeing More and More Kids asking for UA vs Nike. Years back it was NIKE< now it is about even with the Kids..Based on being in touch with the youth. Itās fairly common knowledge.
This is especially true with basketball. The only kids that wear Under Armour sneakers are scholarship players for the handful of programs that have UA contracts. The only two professional players that wear them are Steph Curry and De'Aaron Fox. They never caught on in the basketball space and probably will pull back entirely once Steph retires.Based on being in touch with the youth. Itās fairly common knowledge.
If a player doesn't go to a team because of the brand shoes they wear, he wasn't going there anyway.I think this is a big deal with recuiting. Kids are way more into the swoosh and Jumpman than UA.
You have to remember that these basketball kids can have deals now going to college. Shoe companies are developing relationships with the families of these top recruits at around 14-15 years of age, sometimes earlier. Of course, they are going to steer them to the schools that they have contracts with. I know some of you hate Nike, but the business world is about money and access to people that can make them money more so than politics. If a player doesn't go to a team because of the brand shoes they wear, he wasn't going there anyway.
I'm thinking about football recruits. I really don't care too much about basketball. I agree the kids who have deals with shoe companies will gravitate to colleges with the same shoe brand. You have to remember that these basketball kids can have deals now going to college. If you are an athletic director, you have to care for the health of all of your sports. Yes, football is the #1 money maker, but basketball is 2nd. So, the health of that program is important and we have been letting it die on the vine for far too long. When you couple that with Nike being a stronger brand in the football as well, this decision seems to be a no-brainer to me. Should have been done 3-4 years ago.I'm thinking about football recruits. I don't look as good wearing a skirt.I'm an AND1 guy myself.

I think loafers would complete the look.I don't look as good wearing a skirt.![]()
And I was thinking high heels.I think loafers would complete the look.
Why would you need to replace your UA clothing? There aren't any laws being broken if you continue wearing them.I guess I have to stop hating on Nike. I donāt like their clothes. Prefer UA. Plus I canāt afford to replace all my UA clothing
Iām in touch with them as well and I see a lot of New Balance.Based on being in touch with the youth. Itās fairly common knowledge.
I have noticed that recently as well.Iām in touch with them as well and I see a lot of New Balance.
I thought New Balance was like an over the counter prescription shoe brand.I have noticed that recently as well.
Well now you know.I thought New Balance was like an over the counter prescription shoe brand.![]()
