Got to figure that Texas is in no hurry to let them in either, unless they can take their coach away at the end of the season. Then they might be ok with it.

Personally, I'd love to see Herman say no to Texas and stick it out with Houston, and turn them into a power. Then we could continue to watch the B12's go down, and still see the idiocy of that league. If they want to expand, Houston is logical, but it certainly would hurt Texas and Oklahoma. So what wins out? What's best for the conference or what's best for Bevo and the Roughnecks?

Do people realize OU and Texas are going to be fine regardless of what happens to the Big 12? Both will manage to fall up somehow. In fact several schools will be just fine, only a select few are going to be screwed IF, the Big 12 ever implodes. I think people are under the impression Texas will have their hat in their hand and be desperate for a conference, and I think they'll be able to join any conference they want. If you really hate Texas, you want the Big 12 to stay together or add a crappy team or two.

I think KU might eventually get into another conference (possibly even the Big 10) based on the basis of its basketball prestige. I think ISU and KSU are stuck.

The SWC dissolved in favor of the B12. Now they are reverting back to SWC days and schools.

I miss the Big8 but not the Big12.

I really don't care what happens to K-state, KU or ISU. They voted against us about every chance they got to appease you know who. Screw 'em.

The thing is, according to switzer, he doesn't think they will be fine. You could be absolutely right that they could enter a new conference and be fine, but if they stay put in the big 12 then Houston becomes the superpower in the big 12.

Who really knows? I do think a lot of it comes down to the coach... as long as Hermann is there they are gonna be good. Make one bad hire and things change rapidly. See Texas.
